Hello Everyone!
It may be a little late but I haven't seen anyone start a forum for the Spring 2020 eline program and the deadline is right around the corner so I figured I would start one! Anyone else applying for the program? Any traditional or accelerated? Best of luck to you all!

So since I live in Austin I have the option to go to San Antonio, Round Rock and a couple other places I’ll most likely go to round rock though. You don’t have to worry about placement because once you are accepted the coordinator begins that process for you. They are very organized and on it when it comes to placement and I think that’s because they have been doing it for a while so they have lots of options for us. You won’t start clinicals for a little while. Our cohort won’t start clinicals until October because we have to complete the vital signs check offs first. As far as the books for patho and pharm I went through elsevier. Thank you!! I’m sending you guys all the positive vibes I’m sure you will all get in ❤️
What were your stats?
also how exactly did you go about studying for patho and Pharm the powerpoints have a lot of info and the chapters are super long I’m drowning

So you have to go to campus for orientation and check offs. In October I have to go for 4 days for check offs however they will try to get us discounts on places to stay while we are there. Once you pass check offs you can start clinicals so I won’t have to go back to corpus after check offs. So those are the only mandatory times you have to go. Also, they are doing a white coat ceremony in the beginning of the semester but that’s optional. For patho and pharm I mainly focused on sherpath and then I would go back to the powerpoints and skim through them to review. It is a lot of information I was drowning the whole semester lol but I think it is a little more bearable during the fall or spring semester I wouldn’t recommend taking them over summer like I did, if possible. They are really tough courses but it is only temporary it will be over soon and then you can breath again and one step closer to being a nurse- you got this!

Yes I am drowning between reading the text book and the power points and not knowing which is most important. Did you use the sherpath power points or the e book on sherpath. I’ve been doing the assignments. The discussion posts are supppppeeerrrrrr tedious especially with all the required readings.
So once you check off for the semester you don’t have to go back until check offs for the next semester?

So I mostly just made sure I understood the sherpath assignments and I would look through the ebook on sherpath. Also, the professors I had made their own powerpoints and notes so I looked through those too. Yes there are alotttttttt of discussion posts I had to do ten of them in a week over summer it was sooooooo much. It took a while for me to complete them.
And yes I won’t have to go back after check offs. I just accepted my placement I’ll be going to Baylor Scott and White hospital in Taylor for this semester doing overnight shifts 6 to 6. I’m nervous lol

That sounds really exciting. I work nights as a tech at St David’s and the nurses are more willing to let you observe procedures because the pressure of the doctors and higher up hospital staff isn’t coming in and out of the units.
I just feel so behind because I’m stuck on unit 1 of patho and haven’t even looked at Pharm

I’ve heard the first week of October
not sure if it helps or not but I am one less applicant for competition. I applied to TTUHSC VBSN program and I got my acceptance letter last week. Last week was the most miserable week waiting for my acceptance/denial letter. When I opened the email and found my acceptance letter I felt like 3000lbs of pressure released from my body. So I know all of you are stressing and I hope you can all take time to take a DEEP breath and try to stay calm. Good Luck!!!
