TAMUCC ELINE BSN SPRING 2020

Published

Hello Everyone!

It may be a little late but I haven't seen anyone start a forum for the Spring 2020 eline program and the deadline is right around the corner so I figured I would start one! Anyone else applying for the program? Any traditional or accelerated? Best of luck to you all!

The online coursework is pretty grueling as I have learned. I find it hard to stay on top of it. I also work a full time job and have kids at home.

I applaud you for working through it, I can only imagine how challenging and grueling it is. I am assuming you just take it one day at a time?

Hi everyone...I'm kind of jumping in here as a newbie! Has anyone heard anymore on admissions decisions?

So it’s a pretty hard adjustment with the overwhelming amount of course work. They front load fundamentals and health assessment so it’s pretty accelerated and hard to keep up with assignments and studying and practicing skills but everyone finds out what works best for them. I preferred reading the actual book when it came to fundamentals but you have sooooooo many resources so everyone studies different things. You get a lot of equipment when you go to orientation to practice skills, however it was hard for me to even find the time to practice skills as much as I would have liked to. You get more practice with skills during clinicals. I love my cohort we all help each other out and remind each other of upcoming assignments. We have a group text that we all communicate through. You will get to meet your cohort during orientation so hopefully you guys can start a group text or something because that’s literally a life saver. I definitely wish I could have performed better this semester but it was a very hard adjustment for me especially with how the test are. It’s not black and white it’s very gray and you pretty much have to put together everything you read and learn to formulate what you would do as a nursing priority. I’m still struggling trying to master these kinds of questions. Overall I’m enjoying the program it is challenging and I have had to drastically reduce my hours at work to keep up with the course load. But that’s just me there are still people in my cohort who work full time and have other responsibilities and still maintain the course load.

Hope that helps!☺️?

Thanks, that's so helpful.

I had wondered how possible it would be to manage the work with working a lot. My guess was it wouldn't be easy which your experience supports. It's great that you all support each other, it would feel pretty isolating otherwise I'm sure.

It sounds like the 'greyness' around tests is something across programs.

@ThroughFaith are you in the eline program? If so is the polo really required or is that for on campus students? Also do we need to have an ID badge? I appreciate you in advance :)
