Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and just getting used to things, but I have some important questions for fellow nursing school applicants.
I have applied to TAMUCC online BSN program. I am from the DFW area and am a little concerned about getting placed for clinical rotations. I spoke with a woman on the phone who said it is possible to not get placed in DFW for clinicals (meaning travel to another metroplex.) This might be okay if I knew how many days a week we had to attend rotations and how long they lasted. Is it two days a week for six weeks, 3 days for 4 weeks, etc.
If anyone has any info on clinicals that would be very helpful!
Also, has anyone else applied to this program? And if so what area are you from? Any idea on when we'll hear back about acceptance/interviews? Thanks in advance, looking forward to hearing from y'all!

MandaLeigh! I'd keep checking the mail! Those seem like good scores, and you probably just got a letter instead of having to interview :) I bet the pool of applicants this semester had high gpa's and test scores. I called the other day and they said the letter would go out the first two weeks of April, so I'd expect you to see something this week. I know you had to let the other school know by the 15th, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
I haven't heard anything yet either. If I haven't received an email by the end of the day, I may try to call since my interview is Wednesday morning. I read something on another board that says they don't send the email until all interviews have been scheduled, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. I will definitely keep you guys updated if I hear anything.

I feel your pain! I have a 3.93 GPA as of now in my prerequisites. However, on the application I had to add my fire academy from 2005 (in which my grades weren't great), so it brought my GPA down to 3.56. It's weird that I had to add them since the college doesn't count those classes. I'm assuming it's because they don't go towards my BSN. I only had a week to study for the Hesi, and had not taken Biology yet, so I made like a 91. My CT was in the 900's as well. I'm finishing my Micro and Chem 2 this semester. Doing great as of now. My average in Micro is a 102, and Chem 2 is a 99. Then I will also take the two NURS classes this summer.
I get really nervous with interviews, so I hope I don't stutter or go blank too much. I wonder how many people applied for Fall. I think you still have a chance at getting in!
