Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and just getting used to things, but I have some important questions for fellow nursing school applicants.
I have applied to TAMUCC online BSN program. I am from the DFW area and am a little concerned about getting placed for clinical rotations. I spoke with a woman on the phone who said it is possible to not get placed in DFW for clinicals (meaning travel to another metroplex.) This might be okay if I knew how many days a week we had to attend rotations and how long they lasted. Is it two days a week for six weeks, 3 days for 4 weeks, etc.
If anyone has any info on clinicals that would be very helpful!
Also, has anyone else applied to this program? And if so what area are you from? Any idea on when we'll hear back about acceptance/interviews? Thanks in advance, looking forward to hearing from y'all!
Madisongrinn, I sent an email requesting an account and they sent me an email back saying I just needed to follow some url. Did they tell you the same thing?
How do you ladies feel about the essay? I'm pretty stoked about it!
I followed the link in the pdf emailed to us and it took me the the WebEx site. There isn't a place to log in, so I'm a little bit confused. Maybe we don't need an account, we might just need some sort of confirmation number. I'm assuming we will find out more in the personal emails we will receive tomorrow. And maryssa03, do you know what our essay is about? Or are you just going off the information on this forum about the interview+writing portion? I've searched all through the CONHS site and can't find anything about an essay or interview.
As a side note, it appears that we can use WebEx to host meetings between students if I'm not mistaken. That would be really cool to use for study groups since we're all far away!
Hey guys! I got a call today for an interview!! My interview is Wed at 430p. A friend of mine has already gone through all this so I kinda know what to expect. She had her interview and was accepted into the Spring 2016 term! I'm in the North Fort Worth area near Keller.
Sorry I'm so late! I was in my Micro lab today...Yay for throat swabs. It amazes me how nobody at my table knew what a tonsil was. I had to swab myself using the camera on my phone. I leave the house around 1630 and get out anywhere between 2000 and 2200. Monday and Wednesday are my longest days.
Madisongrinn, I received a few emails today. I'm assuming I received the essay email since my interview is at 10am on Wednesday, and it has to be turned in before your interview. I also received the confirmation of date and time with the password to my session. I didn't realize they were an hour long. I have a Micro test and a Chem II test Wed afternoon, so I'm also trying to study for those

I emailed about getting a webex account and got the same reply with a link. When I clicked the link, it already had my meeting info with the password. I'm a little confused about the audio connection, though. Do we call the number when our meeting starts for sound?
Also, I haven't received anything about the essay yet.
My interview is tomorrow afternoon. I've received everything to do the WebEx and I'm going to try it today just to make sure there are no issues. I emailed about getting an account and they sent me the info but they said I don't need to create an account just to attend the WebEx. I also received the info on the essay and the questions are easy to answer and straightforward. I would imagine they will use the essay responses to generate additional questions during the interview. I plan to ask during my interview (I have a list of questions...lol) but I wonder when we should hear something after the interview.
