Tampa nursing

Published

Hey everyone,

I am trying to move to the tampa area and was wondering what the average pay was for mother/baby or labor and deliver for night shift. And where are the best hospitals to work. If anyone could help me out that would be great thank you.

Not sure...but make sure you will def., 100%, have the job before moving. Most hospitals in Tampa area are not hiring unless you've had a few years experience. I know for graduate nurses it's low 20's/hour. Good luck! :)

Specializes in Surgery, Tele, OB, Peds,ED-True Float RN.

Just moved from Tampa area. Never worked L&D there but step down unit was approx $26/hour for nights plus shift diff. I'm an RN with almost 7 yrs experience.

Best hospital to work.........

Tampa General

St. Joseph's Hospital, woman's

I have four years experience and really just need to make atleast 28 an hour . Any specific floor that I would make that on? Thanks for the input. Also any reason why those are the best hospitals I heard some bad things about Tampa general.

Not sure where you are moving from but FL is one of the lower paid nursing states for some reason. You might have better luck making that through an agency.

Specializes in Oncology/Haemetology/HIV.

Good luck with that. You might try either Baylor shifts (though few hospitals still have those) or agency.
