Hello. Im applying for the ADN RN program at tallahassee community college for Fall 2011. I was wondering if anyone took the entrance exam already? If so, what scores you got.. Im trying to get an idea of where I stand. thanks & good luck!

I'm also taking Microbiology right now with the lab, but with ***** ******* for the lecture and ****** ******** for the lab...I think I enjoy it more than Anatomy! I'm sure you'll be fine, the Microbiology grade doesn't count towards your pre-req GPA, so no worries :)

I'm not sure when the admittance letters will be sent out, but since the deadline's not until the beginning of May, I'm assuming it'll be sometime end of June/beginning of July...the wait will almost kill me, I'm sure!
Good luck to everyone!
I was thinking that it would take about two to four weeks after the deadline for the admittance email to be sent, so I was thinking we should know in June.
OKS10: I think I would have been better off taking micro in the classroom instead of online. Sounds like you are having a better experience than I am having.
Good luck again to all of you!
Hi Guys
I am in the program now and wanted to comment on the question about the scheduling. When I was on here just a few months ago I wondered about the scheduling and didn't have anyone to ask. It would have been nice to get a head's up.
Basically, because of the scheduling and trying to fit everyone in the lab and in their clinical rotations, they tell you where to be and when. For example, my first 8 weeks schedule was as follows:
M:9-12, 1-2 and 2:30-4:30
T: 4-8
W: 9-12, 5-7
Clinicals for the first 8 weeks for me were the second Thursday, fourth Thursday and sixth Thursday. I had morning clinicals (0645-1400)
Also, there is a HESI critical thinking and skills check off in addition to final.
For this current 8 weeks:
M: 9-12, 1:30-3:30
T: 2:30-4:00, 5-9
W: 9-12
Every other Thursday and Friday (I now have evening clinicals 1400-2200)
Also there is a HESI Fundamentals and skills check off, in addition to the final.
Basically the moral of the story is plan to be extremely flexible. The school truly does go out of their way to ensure you are successful if you take advantage of the learning opportunities and give it 100% effort.
Thanks so much Tally2011!! This is VERY VERY helpful! I know the schedules can always differ, however, just to get an idea makes a big difference. How long did it take before you found out that you were in, after the application deadline? I assume on the clinicals you do not have a choice, but are assigned morning or evening?
I have heard the same thing you said about being successful by a former (years and years ago) student of the program, if you do everything the way you are supposed to and take advantage of everything available you WILL do well!
Thanks again for taking the time (out of your no doubt crazy busy schedule) to answer my question!
Hi
The application for me was due around the end of September (I believe the 24th) and I found out in the beginning of November. It is about 6-8 weeks. Our news came via email.
In fundamentals this semester she let us choose our clinical/lab group times out of a choice of six groups but I don't know if she will do that again. There is only room for 6 in each group and the daytime groups got really popular fast. This eight weeks, on the first day of class, we were already assigned in a group and I happened to get evening clinicals this 8 weeks.
Today we had a test so I am spoiling myself and perusing ALL Nurses and other loved sites I have been neglecting. :)
Back to the grind tomorrow though....
Good luck to you all...
You all are so lucky! I got an 85 on the hesi and I am looking around a 130 for points. I really hope I get in! I applied to FSU but did not get in. I know they are now taking freshman and they took their GPA's from high school. All I can do is cross my fingers! I took the hesi over again and scored an 87 but unfortuantely got a 72 on vocab so they cannot use it! Good luck to everyone!!
Bella21; keep me posted on your outcome. I scored a total 135 from the possible 160. My HESI pretty much sunk me. I just took it today and although the Fall deadline closed today, I wonder whether I can retake the HESI (free)for Spring 2012? If anyone here has that answer too, that would be great.
Oh boy am I nervous! If I added up my points correctly I should have a 148/160 which I thought was awesome, but now I'm reading ya'lls scores and I'm getting all nervous again! Yikes...at least if I do get accepted the caliber of my fellow students will be awesome! Which means we can all really work together and rely on each other :) The next 6 weeks are going to be extremely loooonnnnnggggg. Rawr. Hope we all get accepted!

Hi Everyone,
I just found this and I am also applying for Fall 2011 entry. I am taking micro right now online. Are any of you taking it online as well? I am finding it somewhat difficult, not sure why though, I have done really well in all the pre-reqs. Do any of you have an idea of what the schedule is like once you are in the nursing program? I know it changes every 8 weeks but I'd really like to get a better idea of what a sample week would look like.
Thanks!
