In another thread I noticed many of you had taken Zoloft. I have heard this causes weight gain. Have any of you experienced this?Carol
Carol, I've been on 100mg Zoloft BID for about 10 years. I have not noticed a weight gain. I am overweight but that goes back to before I was on Zoloft. Hope this helps, Joanna
thanks for your replies. I have started taking it today, hopefully I will not gain- I am overweight already so I cannot afford to. But hopefully the Zoloft helps with my emotional eating issues and it will even out.
I really didn't want to take anything, but I have always suffered from a mild depression. The stress of the past year or so in my life has added to it more. Hopefully I won't need it too long.
thanks again
This came out today. This article lists paxil and zoloft specifically for weight gain.
I've been taking 50mg per day for about 8 years with No side effects, and no weight gain. Just be prepared to give it time (about 2 weeks). If you feel emotionally 'flat', you are taking too much and should cut back the dose. If there is no effect, go back to the Dr. and try something else; don't give up. It's has made a huge difference in the quality of my life.:wink2:

Actually, I think Zoloft has helped me lose weight...I feel better about myself and want to take better care of my health by eating right, exercising, etc.
