Hi Guys! I Haven't Been Here In A While. I Just Graduated May 1st And Am Working As A Graduate Nurse. My Problem Is I Was Going To Take Boards On May 22, But I Pushed It Back To June 19. I Don't Know Why I Got Cold Feet But I Did. Can Anyone Give Me Some Insight To The Test. I Know I Know My Stuff But I'm Seem To Be Scared At This Point. Eveyone Keeps Telling Me That I Will Never Be Ready And Just Go Ahead And Take It And Its Not Something To Study For, But I Feel Like I Need To Study Or Something. I Don't Know If I Should Try And Take It Earlier Now Or Leave The Date. Any Advice Would Be Well Appreciated. Thanx!!!

I was like you, I pushed my test back because I didn't feel prepared. But to tell you the truth the studying I did really didn't matter. Everyone says you either know it or you don't. I did alot of questions and there is a 3 week course from NCSBN that REALLY helped, the questions were jusy like the Nclex questions. http://www.learningext.com
I passed the Nclex the first time, the computer cut off at 75, I thought I had failed but I didn't. I had no new format questions and alot of pharm, priority, and isolation/infection control.
Hope that helped a little. Good Luck!

The truth is you will never feel ready and you will probably come out of the test feeling like you did not no anything, but that is just the nature of the test. Just remember that the worse you feel after the test, then the harder the questions were and you were pprobably at the passing level. I took the test in Feb. and I had calculations, and check all that apply. Kaplan has a great CD that comes with their review book that is full of quizzes and that NCSBN course is great too. Between the 2 I went in feeling prepared. Know all your lab values. I had 3 questions where the BUN was just barely abnormal. Be prepared for a lot of delegation, priority, disasters and infection control.
Good Luck..

Everyone you talk to and things you read say to take the test within the first month or so. I was pinned on May 21, am taking the Kaplan review class which will finish on June 17 and will take the NCLEX on June 26. The longer you wait, the chances of passing decrease.

first, let me say, congratulations on graduating!
since i just graduated myself, i just wanted to wish you the best on nclex. i plan to take mine this month and no latter than the first couple of weeks in july.
from school, taking an nclex review, and two days away from completing an eri review, and hearing from those who have taken the nclex, do a lot of practice questions. it is best to take it as soon as possible rather than waiting a long time.
you can do it!

Hi,
If you graduated in March 2004 at MDCC part time generic program in Miami then I went to school with you. I wanted to let you know that I had the same feelings about this test. My advise to you is to go and take it. You are ready and well prepared. I did not pass the ATI test the first time around. However I took the NCLEX test June 1st and only received 75 questions. I found out this morning that I passed........ :)
Good luck and I will pray for you. Loraine

Hey Lorraine, good to hear from you. Yeah, its me, Lerae...I'm happy to hear that you passed. I know, I have this problem with procrastination. I don't know what i'm afraid of. Now, I'm thinking I'm off for the next 4 days from work, maybe I'll go take it and won't tell anyone. Just do it. I know I can pass, I just got cold feet when I came close to the first date. If they let me change it again, I think that's what I'll do. Take it this Tuesday, the 8th. anyway, keep in touch, I'll let you know what happens. Tell Caroline I said HI!!!!
