Taking Peds ATI on Friday, how did you do?

Published

I just finished my first practice test with a lovely score of 63%! Borderline freaking out. Not sure what the national average is considered for Peds, but on my Pharmacology ATI last semester I know I passed at a level 2 with a 68%. If you've taken it - how was it? Was the practice test harder? Thanks for any info!

I didn't think it was terrible, I can't remember exactly but I know I was over 90%.. You just have to really know the developmental stages and what's appropriate.. Continue with whatever practice tests you have available and good luck!!

I scored an 80% which was 99th percentile nationally. That stemmed from a national average of 62%. Did I know 80% of the material? HECK NO. Want to know my secret? Prayer + very good guessing.

I found it to be a little challenging. However, I also did a lot of prayer and good guessing. I passed but barely.

Good luck!!

Definitely did some praying and read the entire Peds ATI book within two days. I scored a 70.0% at a passing Level 2 - I was happy with that. National average being 61.9% -- crazy!! I have OB on Monday, getting ready to take the practice tests now! Thanks guys!

Agreed with W'sMama- know developmental stages, how you would teach children at different ages, what to expect them to be able to do at different ages, and anticipatory guidance.

My class found this particular ATI test to be very challenging. Most of us got 1's, a couple got 2's, and I think one person got a 3. I usually just browse through the ATI book and take the tests and am often able to score a 3 this way. But with pediatrics, I really think you need to study more thoroughly and spend more time reviewing if you want to do well on the ATI test. Of course you'll want to know your developmental levels well, like the others suggested, but our test had so many random questions from a lot of different topics, so really just study as many topics and as much as you can!

Good luck! :nurse:

Thanks for this posting. I am taking PEDS this week and have been slightly freaking out. I just did the practice test very quickly and got a 48%!! Any extra info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

hi daisy. i took peds last semester. i did the practice assessments 2x. first time i got a 56.7% and was freaking out cuz in practice i ranged in the 60's and the real ones in the 70's. always got level 2. so i took a second practice exam and got a 95. cuz i memorized the answers lol.

on the real exam i got a 80% which is a level 3. and i thought i flunked it to the point my hands were shaking when i clicked finish. it was a very stressful ATI. almost as bad as the OB ati

there were stuff on there we never learned and our teacher told us that prior to the test. like they put a pick of a fracture and wanted to know what type it was. seriously. the exam was like medsurge but there are also G&D q's on there so it throws a wrench in.

read each question in its entirety and take it slow. i found learning system RN to help me in what i had to study.

Good Luck!
