Hi guys...I'm taking my NCLEX tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. I have been studying for about a month and a half now and I finished school back in December, so I feel like I'm a little rusty.
I used Kaplan and did 100% of the Qbank, did the two sample tests, the priorities test and the alternate format test. I also did all 7 trainers. Reviewed all rationales for every single question. My average score is about 65.
I also purchased the HURST review because since I was out of school since December, I needed a content refresher. I watched all of the videos and filled in all of the handouts they provided. I did 5 of the 6 Qreview exams. My average number right was about 80.
I signed up for UWorld a couple of days ago thinking I would do questions from there the days before my exam, but I have just not had time.
Today I am still reviewing....gave myself a cut off time of 2:30 because I am getting a massage at 3 pm to help me relax. I plan on going over the notes that I took from the rationales and reviewing some meds because that, along with the SATA are my weak points. I am also going to look over lab values once last time because I get them easily confused.
I am SO NERVOUS. I feel like I haven't done enough...like I should have studied longer, reviewed more...I already signed a contract to start a nurse residency program next month and it is contingent on me passing my boards, so if I don't pass...obviously no job. So much pressure and so much stress!
Any last minute tips, suggestions, hints, advice that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
I am in the exact same position as you! I graduated in December too and am taking my nclex this coming Monday. I feel super rusty on things since it's been so long. I also did Kaplan. All of the question trainers, the priorities and alternate tests. I did Qbank tests on my weak areas only. My average score is 56.3 I need to know how you felt about nclex! How was it compared to Kaplan!? And how did you do???

These were my trainer scores....QT1=65 QT2=62, QT3=48 frown emoticon QT4=58 QT5=52 QT=59 QT7=60. On the qbanks my average score was about 65. On the readiness test I got a 76. What totally freaked me out was when I did the alternate format test and got 38. I went in to panic mode. Also after reviewing all of the rationales I went back and did all of the questions I had gotten in correct until I got them correct.
I feel like Kaplan questions are very similar to NCLEX, but the NCLEX ones are a little easier. Tricky, but easier. I got all multiple choice and SATA.
I suggest that you do questions on all areas, not just the ones that you feel you're weak in. Because you will get questions that although you may know the answer to, the rationales may include information that you don't know or may explain why a particular answer is right or wrong than what you may have originally thought.
For content, I felt HURST was really good. I started Kaplan first and when I realized how rusty I was with material, I looked in to Hurst. It was totally worth it for me. Good luck!
