Taking the Nclex for the 5th time 2016

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I graduated in January after returning from Belize for a school medical/missions trip.

The first time I tested, we used ATi and Saunders textbook through school: Failed at 192 questions (January)

Second time I studied with a friend, used ATI, Saunder's, and a Kaplan text: Failed at 265 (March)

Third time, I used NSCBN, Saunders, and kaplan. Since i was close to passing, I didn't think i needed to do much "review" per say. Failed at 154 (June)

This last time I studied hurst for 4+ hours everyday and failed in 265 questions (September). This test was different from the rest because there were more telemetry strips, drag and drop, prioritization, and math questions than i ever remember before.

Ready to restart and study and I greatly need help on where to begin.

Thank you so much @gizahon

I really needed to hear that!

Of course, please let me know when you pass

I feel you! I will also be taking nclex for the 5th time . It is frustrating but DO NOT give up. I agree this 4th time I also had a lot of telemetry strips. What I am doing different this time is limiting my resources. I'm only using UWORLD and tootRN she has great videos on youtube and offers a course. Also, now I always remember safety measures and think of expected outcomes for what they're asking in the question. Good Luck!

please please don't give up and keep going.

May God bless you and give you strenghth, , ameen

I passed for the 2nd time around.. I went to this private review.. And she is really good.. I just used her strategies.. And boom 75 questions in 40 mins.. Passed!

I just passed my Nclex RN yesterday. This was my 4th time testing. I had done Uworld, Saunders. I finally went and paid $295 for a review here where I live. Best money we ever spent! I did everything the nurse who does this review recommended. I got around 100 questions. I had 20 sata, 1 exhibit, 2 drag and drops, 1 EKG, and 2 pictures where I had to identify something. I did the trick and got the good pop up. My license was active yesterday morning around 10. Good luck.

Don't give up. I took it for the 4th time in 2004 and never thought about testing again. Well July 25, 2016 (twelve years later) I passed on the fifth time with 205 questions. I bought the Kaplan book and thousands of question apps. Praying also did it for me! Keep studying and praying and focus on the best answer to safe nursing.

You are a prime example for shutting down naysayers. Love it! Congratulations to you!!

Congrats!!!

Hi there hpalmer,

Did you pass???? OMG, congrats, I knew you could do it, now go out and celebrate, but don't drink too much, lol

Hi, what did they teach you in that review that helped you this time? TIA

Hi, just wanted to say stay positive, you've done the hardest task which is you completed the training. I am originally from Belize and pursuing my Nursing here in the US and was wondering if the LVN training you received was from a medical/missions training in Belize. If so, would you mind sharing that info with me, I would really appreciate it as I am looking for ways to cut down on the expensive tuition here in the US. Good luck with your NCLEX and thank you.
