good am guys...

ill be taking my nclex soon,, just polishing up my pharma and ill be ready...

any tips on how to study pharma effectively?

i didnt do well in kaplan q trainer.. test7 i got 55% but test 1-6 got 60%-65% T_T

and are there any sites where recent nclex test takers compiles their actual questions?

T_T for every 10 questions i get 6-7 correct.. i think its impossible to remember all things ill just use my common sense and hope ill pass..

When you sit for the exam, you agree not to discuss anything related to the exam itself following your testing session.

And simply put, I spent very little time on pharm. I reviewed the major categories, knew something about each one and tried to throw each of the drugs into a category. Not once did I regret not spending much time on pharm. I passed with 75 questions first try.

i agree with the above poster--you cannot discuss actual nclex questions.

but here is some help for pharm that you requested for:

I'm pretty new to all of this, but yesterday when I went in, I felt like maybe i should put it off for a few more weeks, & about 6 questions into it I was like ***(?), & before I was 1/2 way through I was sure I was crashing, & there were all these meds that I'd never heard of. When it was over, I thought I'd probably set a new record for failing, & the 75 questions they gave me was simply out of kindness. My wife told me I should have post-poned it, but I was totally honest when I said that post-poning it wouldn't have done any good, because what I was studying was not on the test.

Anyway, a day after the test, those are my perceptions of how I felt; however, I passed, so I'm thinking everything Suzanne has posted about the test has been totally correct. The only advice I would even attempt to give anybody, is just be prepared to feel unprepared, & then take your time on the questions that seem totally off-the-wall-goofy, don't let them throw you for the next question, & don't read stuff into 'em that isn't there, & answer them like you would if you were at home taking a practice test, & move on to the next question. When I got home, I told myself that for the next time I tested I was going to spend a whole lot more time srudying drugs, but I now think that it wouldn't have done all that much good, because how many meds can one person store in their mind for very long when one is trying to remember a vast plethora of other data in a short period of time? When in doupt about a "ramifications of a drug question," I always went with whatever pertained to the liver. I've no idea, whatsoever, how many I missed & how many I got right that way.

Anyway, those are my perceptions.

Good luck.

Matt
