Hello everyone,
I am taking the NCLEX this Friday and I am starting to feel a little pressure! .....I have being doing Kaplan on-line and a lilttle bit of Saunders. I have been writing notes and flash card to help review things that I might have missed, I am going to review those things on Thursday....no Kaplan! My job is suppose to start 2/9/10 therefore the PRESSURE is really on.....I have the faith that I will do well but idk my kaplan scores are:
Diagnostic-45%
QT1-48%
QT2-55%
QT3-50%
QT4-53%
QT5-57%
QT6-56%
QT7-55%
Readiness-57%
Overall Qbank-53% with 64% done
What are yall opinions of those scores?
Also, can u wear hats to the testing center? can you take like candy or gum in if it is in your pocket?
Any advice would help, any relaxation idea that I can do on Thurday or Friday AM?
thanks!!!

HI knpigway, relax, take a deep breath and stay focus- they said try to have a day off of not studying or reviewing even reading do something you like off of nursing to take your mind off- try to get a good night sleep the night before, on the day for breakfast eat protien and no more than just a cup of tea or coffee w/c ever you drink, take some extra protien snacks with you in case you'll be there longer- take breaks once its suggested in your screen helps you to revitalized and get a new start, be half an hour early as much possible at your testing site to get situated (this lessen the anxiety), I was't really sure if they allow you to wear hats inside neither if they allowed candy in your pocket as they check your pocket and if you wear a sweater/jackets that have pockets they ask you to take it off seems pretty harmless to have one if you have one in your pocket all they can do is to tell you you can't have that in the testing room same w/ your hat to take it off. and lastly pray and believe on what you know you'll be fine :redbeathe- GOOD Luck and God Bless you!!:heartbeat
thanks Depress Nurse...I am staying positive!!! I was asking about the hat bc I tend to play in my hair when i get stressed and wanted to prevent that....I am keeping the faith...take out time before studying to say a pray!!!

HI I just took my test last week wednesday and passed! I used Saunders mostly and I passed with 75 questions. I am not too sure on how Kaplan testing questions work but I do know that my test had a lot of priority and infection control like questions so be sure to brush up on that. when i say infection control I mean they will ask you something like if you have a type of infectious patient what precautions would you use. So definately be prepared for those and you can not wear hats or big coats in the testing center. you can take candy but you will have to put it in the locker that they provide for you when you check in. You pretty much can not bring anything in there. They check your pockets so i wouldn't put anything in them. Good Luck try to relax and stay calm if you find yourself getting antcy during the test stop for a minute and take a break if you need to I got through 75 questions in like a hour an a half so regardless of the fact that there can be 75-265 questions with 6 hours you have plenty of time just stay steady and do it! You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think your scores are good coz kaplan questions are really hard compared to NCLEX.. prioritization and delegation book by L.A. charity helped me too,..i tested last jan21 and stopped at 75 questions and passed! im sure u will too..u will be asked not to put anything in your pocket. i did stretching, read the kaplan strategies, eat my favorite food,PRAYED ALOT,and slept early.

Relax the day before. By now, you should be ready. If you have any doubts, you need to reschedule, but only if you feel way out of it. The added pressure is there because of the job offer. That is why people do better when they take the NCLEX and pass it with less pressure, before they worry about jobs. Good luck.
