Taking NCLEX, when is license posted online (IL)?

Hello guys I am taking the NCLEX-RN on Monday and I am just wondering how long does the IL BON takes to post your license online. I will try the quick results but I'd like to know too if IL is one of the states that takes a little longer or right away. Thank you.

P.S. If I do want to check it online should I just go to the ''license lookup'' at the idfpr page? Thanks!

It took less than a month to post online. I took my Nclex on January 21 on February 3 my name was posted with my license number. Illinois is not hand out paper licenses anyone

I'm so frustrated with IL I have many job offerings they just won't allow me to orient without a license number.

I received my "congratulatory" letter and send back the $150 check and initial license form thru ordinary mail last may6, and found out they encase it last may27, now I'm waiting patiently for my license card, so I have to wait 6to 8 more weeks??? Added stress from taking the NCLEX-PN..

I know this is an old message! but was wondering how you did it - passed the NCLEX on Aug 29 and still haven't recieved my letter. was suposed to start oreintation next week but now looking like it's going to be pushed back :(

Hi Kriggs19 and Mangk,

I am in the same boat, sent the $50 check to IL BON a week ago and still waiting for licence to posted on BON. I have to transfer my licence to CA asap. Any help would be appreciated.

Illinois no longer issues a paper license. I took my nclex on June 8th. Results were up the next day. I received my paper work for license on June 17th. I mailed my $50 payment on June 24th. I waited and waited for my license to be mailed but never received it. I checked the illinois board of nursing website and it said I was licensed as of July 6th. Funny, because my check was not cashed until July 11th. Anyway, I got my license number from the BON and went on the IDPR site to print my license.

IDFPR is notorious for being extremely slow. I passed in November and didn't even get my license number online and in hand until mid January. Previous poster is right about how most places (especially the big hospitals) will not even consider you unless you have your license on hand. You could be a lucky one and get it with no problem in 2-4 weeks after sending in your application for licensure with the fee. Good luck!

Hi.. I have passed my nclex RN examination..I did not receive my license (Illinois BON) yet..while calling Idfpr they ask me to fill the application with 50 dollar Cheque.. can anyone post here the application which I need to fill..thanks in advance..

If I remember correctly, you will receive an application in the mail. You will fill it out and mail a check with it. Then you can go to IDPR website to or NURSYS to print your license
