Taking Nclex, when is license posted online (IL)?

U.S.A. Illinois

Updated:   Published

Hello guys I am taking the NCLEX-RN on Monday and I am just wondering how long does the IL BON takes to post your license online. I will try the quick results but I'd like to know too if IL is one of the states that takes a little longer or right away. Thank you.

P.S. If I do want to check it online should I just go to the ''license lookup'' at the idfpr page? Thanks!!!

I've been checking all morning to see if im on the BON website. Still not there. I called them awhile ago asking how long it would take to be posted on the website because my check was cashed yesterday. The lady told me "6-8 weeks." I was like "whhhhaaattt?!?!?!?! she said that when the check is cashed it means the license is in process and once the process is over (6-8 weeks), it will appear online. This is so frustrating. I'm supposed to start work in 2 weeks :(

I know KLayco, a guy yesterday told me the same thing 6-8 weeks (before that I thought it was only 3-4 weeks). It was my first time calling so you could imagine my surprise!! So, you start orientation in 2 weeks... do you know what could happen if the time comes and your license didn't show up yet? Mine starts in 3 weeks... so wondering the same!

Well, I am an atypical case, but my license was posted today. I will tell you what happened.

I had started paperwork with Wisconsin for endorsement because I had a job prospect in Milwaukee. I was then offered the job in Iowa so I needed to start the process with them. I had spoke with someone in IDFPR call center regarding this because I did not have a license number to list in my letter requesting certification, and they told me to attach my credential ID number instead. I sent them out a day apart UPS Ground. I received an email today from an incredibly helpful woman about the issue. She told me that she sent one of them back, and that she was keeping the other until she heard from me about what the issue was. I explained my situation and what I was told. She called me within about an hour and told me that she processed my license and certification would be sent to Wisconsin BON today. She told me that Iowa would be sent out tomorrow for me.

This does not really help you out, but I wanted you both to know how this played out for me. I have 2 classmates that contacted me about my process since they will lose their jobs if they are not posted on the website my Monday. I'm seeing if there is anything they can do about it, but I doubt there is much. If I find something out I will definitely let you both know. Watch your private messages!

Good luck to you both.

UPDATE!

The quickest way is to do the process how I did it. Private message me if you need assistance! She is seriously a ray of sunshine in the behemoth called IDFPR.

Kriggs- Got your PM's. Thank you so much! I will get in touch with her. I tried sending you a message back but the site would not let me.

Almaguerrn my manager said she would just adjust my start date accordingly as to when I receive my license number or when it gets posted on the BON site.

She just emailed my classmates back. She can't push anymore through just to push them through. Do the certification verification form. I will send you both the letter you need to send.

update: my license just posted to the BON this morning and I start orientation tomorrow. :) I am keeping my fingers crossed for those waiting for theirs. Took NCLEX On feb 5th and it just posted today March 2nd.

Mangk, congrats! I will keep everyone posted as well!

Just letting everyone know mine got posted today (online). I mailed my check on 02/12 via regular mail.

I know this is an older post but I wanted to update this for those that searched and found this posting. For the LPNs that just found out that they passed their NCLEX. When I received my letter from continental and turned it in with a check for $50 (I mailed this in around 9/14/15). I checked IDFPR today (9/18/15) because of this posting, and boom! They had all my info listed...license #, effective and expiration dates. So, hope this helps others!!:)

Sorry I can't private message you because I'm new but I'm in desperate need to have my RN number. My family is relying onit. Please help
