hello all! i must admit i have been lurking around this website for a while now. the time has come for me to take my nclex. i have done everything i know how to do. i took the kaplan review course (in-class). i have done nclex questions (almost 2,000 of them since i started studying about 4 weeks ago). i have exercised (to stimulate blood flow to my brain and to lose a few lbs.!), read a comprehensive review book (though i don't know how much of it i've retained!) and prayed, prayed, prayed. now i think i'm finally ready. i am a little nervous. my question is, do you guys have tips on how to stay calm during the test? and how to stay focused even after 150 questions (which i seriously hope i don't get!)? thank you in advance.
I too am a nervouse test taker, so I understand your pain. I just took it on the 19th and passed with 135 questions. The only thing I can say is go in there expecting to get a long test, so that when you only get 75 questions, it won't seem so long. BREATHE!! Try to stay focused, and know in your heart you can pass, and you will. Good luck to you, I'll say a prayer!
:gandalf: hy nurselene, don#t panic, I failed the first time, and now i#m also scheduled for the 26th of july...... I feel completly the same way.......
but we have to calm down and focus on the one and only question in front of us.......
I wish you all the best for your exam.......

Thank you! I am sure you did great! Yeah. I think that my "oh sh*t" number is 150-160. But anything below that, I think I'll be good. Your advice is great. I am going to mass the morning of my test. I'm really glad I scheduled to take mine in the afternoon..it gives me time to relax and get mentally prepared. I am doing the 265 question kaplan trainer today. it will be my last set of questions. Tomorrow, I'm off to the beach! It will be a beautiful day in Southern CA tomorrow!
