Taking my nclex in 3 days....

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

God it is killing me, I am taking my nclex in 3 days. This has been killing for a long time and I just want it to be over with already. I am starting to get nervous, and having feelings of what if I don't pass. I am scheduled to take my test on Monday and I am starting to second guess myself whether not I am prepared. If you guys really want to know the truth, I have been studying since Nov. 16, my last day of school. I have been doing it nonstop with little breaks. It kills me that I have been studying for so long. But, now that I have three days left I am mainly trying to brush on areas that I am having difficulty with. I am mainly reviewing Saunders, but I just finished the ncsbn online review with learnext. com.

I will tell you guys more, I know I read about someone else who had a similar story. Basically I graduated in my class with honors, and I even gave a speech at my graduation. Feelings of embarrassment come to me if I fail. I am taking this test for myself, and not for anyone, but I just hope I pass. I really want to get my life started. But, I guess I am just feeling normal if I have emotions of failure, embarrassment, and unpreparedness going into the nclex. Did you guys feel that way once you took your nclex. Everyone around me tells me that I will pass, but you really don't know. Thanks for any kind advice, and hopefully my head will clear by Monday. Please pray for me.

thanks for the words of encouragement! It kind of sucks though, because I am here in Cali and I believe we cannot view unofficial results and have to wait up to 4 weeks to see our results. Sucks...the best thing that we can do is possible check to see if we are on the license verification online three or more days after we have taken our test, or basically hound the mailman within the next two weeks up to 4 weeks. Blah...I think the waiting game may kill me, but I will take advantage of the extra time that I have and clean out my garage, and renew my CPR. But that you for the words of encouragement.

Well not trying to hijack my own thread but I will give it a bump. It is now 3 weeks and 2 days and I still have not received anything in the mail yet here in Northern Cali. :o Just waiting around and hoping the letter will come at least this week if not next hopefully. I am just crossing my fingers that it will turn out to be ok. Kind of bugs me a little though because one my classmates took her test the day after me and received her results feb 22nd. Keelling me...LoL. Proud of her though, but I wish I could've received my results already.

Please let us know as soon as you find out even though I will bet its a big fat PASS!!!!!:up:

Yellow .. can you clarify what you mean about temp license? Im confused about that?? I have heard mixed things when it comes to this .. my potential boss said to take them to boards myself instead of mailing them .. so when I do that I can get a temp license so I can work?? I dont have to wait the grueling another 3-4 weeks for actual license??? There has GOT to be some other means so I can work here in a week or so .... this has taken 2 yrs to get this far!! let me know when you get a chance... also if anyone knows about our names appearing on website? I heard that after we pay 48 hours later it should be on there, but then I heard it doesnt appear on there until after 4 years?? anyone know?? thanx ... also this is for LVN, not RN

congratulations!!!!! to heartjulz and yellowsir..... your deserve it and u r now a nurse.... :):):):nurse::typing:D

I know its easier said, but don't get too stressed some is good, just do what you're doing brush up on rusty areas, you'll be fine. I don't remember anything mine stopped at a wierd 92 questions but I passed, I cried all day thinking I failed but I didn't. Hang in there.

Congrats. I've been following your thread. I notice you live in Stockton. I live in Elk Grove, Cali and the major hospitals here are not hiring LVNs. Do you know of any other hospital in Stockton that's hiring besides Dameron. Would appreciate feedback. I'm willing to make the drive.

Once again, congrats!!!:up::yeah::bowingpur:nurse::bow:

Yeah...there is a phone number and an address on the nclex enelope and included papers. I called today to see if I the voc nurse office was open but they were closed, if not I would have drove down to Sacramento and payed my money right then and there to get my temp license. The temp license is basically your license that will allow you to work until you get your certificate in the mail. But the temp certificate will allow you to work. Then yes...after you pay your name will show up on the computer. Congrats julz!!! Just look up the address and even call the number on monday to clarify and see if you can go to the office. I will just be going straight to the office on monday.

Well....I will be applying to work at St.Joseph's hospital and if not San Joaquin County hospital. But st.joesph's is not easy to get into unless you know someone (i.e. my mom). Also, there is kaiser in manteca but I believe you only float and work in outpatient plus you need to know someone too (i.e. my aunt). I am just thinking and wondering what my future will have ahead of me. I have some people that want to hire me already at a LTC to be an admission coordinator, but I am just waiting for a call from the main lady and I am gonna see what type of hours and pay the job is.

Thanks everyone!!!
