taking nclex at 8AM

hi everyone

i will be taking the nclex for the second time in a few hours. anxiety took over my body the first time i took it. i didnt take a break for the 4 hours i was there and i was exhausted when i left. around the end of the test, i was so tired, i started to click answers that seemed right to hurry and finish. BIG MISTAKE =( i feel like i memorized facts instead of actually learning and applying them.

i am lucky that my hospital offered me another position in the time being. i am a scrub tech on the l&d floor. i was so happy to become a scrub tech because the OR is such a heavily used room in l&d. they can use me too if there are stats or when they need an extra pair of hands. i was also trained to be an anesthesiology tech, which is another great skill to learn on the floor.

i feel like i have everything down except my RN license. i was so embarassed to tell people i failed. i was so jealous when the other l&d novices passed. this is the first time i failed a test when it actually counted.

i plan to take the test with confidence and belief that i will pass. i am going to take tons of breaks as well.

* i am writing so late because my mom woke me up by turning on the hall light. i cant sleep/wake up if the lights are turned on. i was furious!! i am going to try to sleep for a few hours. please wish me luck!!

good luck! remember that you're doing it for yourself and not for others so don't be afraid what the people will say whatever the result of your exam.

so i answered about 115ish questions and took LOTS of breaks this time. i read on a thread that if you have tons of priority and sata questions, you are doing great because those are higher level nursing questions. and let me tell you, my whole test consisted of those. i felt confident before and i left that way too...

I PASSED EVERYONE. :yeah:second time around. a blessing, a miracle..... i guess i did something right and was a good person leading up to the exam for God to grace me with this RN license.

sigh of relief!!!!!

for future test takers: do NOT let anxiety get the best of you. i had jitters for my first test and i failed. you have to feel confident and you have to be satisfied with your life so that if you do fail, its not the end of the world. the FEAR of failing wont haunt you.
