Taking Exams Over? Curving Grades So Everyone Passes?

Since when are people rewarded for not trying hard and doing the bare minimum to get by. Before, When I screwed around in my classes and didn't do my work I failed. Plain and simple. In my class some people did not do well and complained so much they are allowing everyone to retake the SAME test so everyone is getting 100. Our first semester is broken into 2 sections If you don't pass 1st you don't go to 2nd. The grades have not been posted yet because instructors have been trying to crunch the numbers so everyone passes. Even if they didn't earn it.

Is anyone else's program like this? It makes me not want to try as hard because I guess I will just pass anyway. :/

I'm having the same problem in my class as well. Its so bad some girl started crying because of the unfairness that goes on behind closed doors or after hours at school. My best advice would be to stick to your guns because come time to take the NCLEX is when your hard work will show while others will not because their not giving it their all and putting forth the effort which they will probly fail in the end. Stay strong your almost half way there! :)

Not only that but I would think that you would want to study hard to be the best nurse possible for your future patients.

Yelp, the same problem with my program with curving grades, extra credit, passing people, etc but it is all good because it all boils down to the boards

It wasn't like that in my program. There was 1 case I know of where a girl missed 1 question which she needed to pass the class, she fought hard to stay in the program and convinced them. In my school if you don't pass a class, you go back a whole year, if you're lucky enough to get in again. 80 spots for over 300 applications. There was no hand holding. They had office hours, though, where if you were struggling you were welcome before its too late.
