Nursing! no question! theres always something to do in the field and I feel like it would be so much more rewarding :) the money might not be as good but the experince and gratidude will be well worth it

good luck :)

i was trying to decide the something a while back and i'm choosing nursing. for this simple reason that if i'm going to pharmacy school i'm NOT going to work in retail no matter the money.

Nursing...I was in pharmacy for 15 years before switching and I love the level of direct patient interaction I get now. Before, I was a short order cook who could kill someone if a dish was wrong. Now, I get to really care for people. Both professions require many hours of standing a day. Both suffer from not paying techs enough to attract and retain the best. There is a degree of impotence to create change in both careers because you see so so many errors or poor choices by prescribers. Both careers have a high rate of burnout. Nursing just gives me better rewards emotionally.

All of my pharmacy experience was at the retail level filling prescritions and doing compounding. Other areas of pharmacy may be more rewarding long term. I did love pharmacy the first 5 years or so and I'm sure many other people retain that love throughout long successful careers. I'd take nursing anyday, even with less pay.

I say Pharmacy:D.

Pharmacy..the female pharmacists that I came across always had their nails done and wore expensive shoes!

question.. does anybody know any site like allnurses for pharmacist??? thanks

I like my nursing job. I am friends with a couple of pharmacists and would not trade with them. I make more than 2 of them, the only one that makes more works in retail and is a senior pharmacist/manager.... making about $150k/yr salary with lots of hours worked a week...... and generally they are all bored out of their minds with the monotony of the work...... the hospital pharmacists dont make as much.....80-110/yr salary with lots of hours worked.

Combine them (sorta kinda) and become a CRNA like I plan to :)
