what to do to take nclex in illinois without local license

Published

hey guys! I'm glad that i found this site, i need your help.. well i graduated Bachelors of Nursing in the Philippines last 2014, unfortunately i went to PRC (philippines) and i was hoping that i could take the local exam but they didn't allow me saying that because I'm an AMERICAN citizen (born in Chicago, but raised in the Phil) I'm currently here in Chicago for almost 2yrs. I'm working at a nursing home and most of my friends has been asking me when am i going to take my test.. I am actually kinda pressured :( i just want to get this done and start working as a nurse and make more money ofcourse.. I'm having trouble what to do first for me to take the NCLEX. I do not have local license, what do i do? I already called the PRC here and they said they require local license for me to take the NCLEX, they also told me to try to submit a letter that why did i not take the local exam but that's not guaranteed they will allow me to take the NCLEX. I know its hard coz u have to have the money to process all the papers, but i just wanna know what to do first to lessen my expenses :) I'm so confused.. what goes first??? also i would like to know if you guys know any states that doesn't require local license in that way i can just take it and live there, ohh and one more thing, if ever i do apply to some other state, can i take the exam online or do i have to take it there? thanks guys so much guys! I someone will reply.. :)

omg this article requires at least 600+ words lol well i got nothing else to say, that's pretty much it.. feel free to comment guys.. please and thank you! :)

ugggh still needs 300+ words, haha. well okay so my original papers (OTR, Diploma) are still in the Philippines, but i do have a copy of it. I know if they require them a photocopy is okay right? or maybe not? hmmmm, i dont have anybody else back home to fix all my documents. the person who has them is my ex girl friend which i had her petitioned as fiance and still in the process. if your curious about me i guess your right what you think i am :) i am bisexual. Okay this is going nowhere now, hahaha. I still need 200+ words. I do have a lot of friends that works as a nurse and they keep bugging me when to take it, its just so hard for my part to say that i wasn't able to take the local exam just because I'm an American citizen, to be honest i'd rather be dual. Oh yeah that is one more thing, when i was back home i tried to apply dual citizenship because they saw that i was overstaying in the country.. so i had to pay 20,000 pesos taxes and leave the country soon. my case is so complicated. so basically if you are born in the US even if your parents are filipinos, your citizenhip will still be American. unless, both of your parents where filipino citizen from the time you were born you are considered dual. so unfortunatey both my parents were already american citizens when i was born and theres no way or me to become dual, and that really sucks... let me know if your guys have any problem with citizenhip maybe i could help..

Your transcripts can not be copies or photocopies unless you have them motorized to say they are identical to original. Usually transcripts should come directly from university or nursing school with their official stamp

Thankyou! í ½í¸Š

thank you for replying, so basically i have to get them notarized first? Then its okay atleast to have a photocopy? Lets say i do have them already notarized but i dont have the originals, will i still be able to submit a photocopy? If not then to where i have to submit it? Or my transcripts should be coming from the school i studied directly sent to.... Which one? Does that mean i have to go through CGFNS or CES first? Or can i simple apply and take the nclex without local license?

Thankyou!

You should be ok without a local license because you can send a letter of explaination. Go to the board of nursing website and check what is needed. If CES from CGFNS then you need to arrange with your school that they send your transcripts to CGFNS

So can i just directly apply to NCLEX? Or its still mandatory to go directly CGFNS?

Depends on what the state wants... Some require CGFNS and one of their services and some accept other companies that evaluate your transcripts. either way until application is fully completed the state will not give permission to sit NCLEX

Do u by chance know if illinois requires CGFNS?

All the info is here:

You can use CGFNS or ERES according to page 3 of the application

Oh my i guess i have to go through CGFNS and everything.. I was thinking if its possible to just take the NCLEX right away, my concern is i dont have local license :( i hope everything will work out just fine then.. So how do i submit my papers to CGFNS? Does my school have to transfer all my credentials to them or can i just send them a photocopy of what they need?
