Oh my i guess i have to go through CGFNS and everything.. I was thinking if its possible to just take the NCLEX right away, my concern is i dont have local license :( i hope everything will work out just fine then.. So how do i submit my papers to CGFNS? Does my school have to transfer all my credentials to them or can i just send them a photocopy of what they need?

No you need to be deemed eligible for a nursing license by examination. NCLEX is but one step in the process.

Official transcripts and documents are required so that they can evaluate the equivalency to the BoN standards. Personal photo copies are never acceptable for professional assessments & licensing

CES is $350 without expedited processing or English language proficiency assessment. You follow the instructions here:

Credentials Evaluation Service Professional Report® | CGFNS International, Inc. | Global Credibility

CGFNS lets you know their evaluation is complete and forwards the report to the BoN. The BoN determines if your credentials are equivalent and you meet the qualifications for a nursing license by examination

You will not get permission to sit NCLEX without meeting requirements ... so in this case your sister is wrong.

Hi! Im currently applying for my nclex here in illinois too. Im also a foreign student from the philippines. I graduated May 2015, took and passed the local board nov 2015. I started applying for nclex mar 2016, and now i just receive my approval from the bon of illinois. My next step is to register for pearson to get att. Let me know they allowed you take it without local boards. New york and hawaii dont need local board.

Hi so they allowed u to take the local board back home? What is your nationality? How sure u are that new york does not require local license?

Many states do not require a local license. Best thing you can do is either contact the state and get answer directly from them or submit application and see what happens

Yeah im actually based here in Chicago and it sucks coz they require local license. So i might have to move to some other state for me to take the NCLEX with my situation right now. I really dont have relatives in NY but i guess i would have to be independent. Lol. My question thought is, once i become an RN for example in some other state can my license be transferred to illinois? ( i guess that depends again with the requirement right? Lol)
