Swedish Resident Registered Nurse Program Summer 2016

Published

I have been waiting for the application to open up and when I searched today there it was! Submitted my application and now it's a waiting game.. Would like to stay in touch with other people in the same boat as me for the Summer 2016 cohort, so is anyone else out there applying or have you gone through the process and have any advice? So exciting! :)

I think it does have to do with the unit you choose. The labor & delivery/post partum date starts in June, and they were my first choice units.

@kah_0123, do you happen to know which units have availability or if they stated it in the interview?

I interviewed for CVICU and ED. The interview seemed to go well. I was told that they will call back individuals mid April for another round of interviews with department managers. I know for both positions I'm going for it's 18 weeks training and it starts August 1.

If I remember correctly on the application page it said which departments they have open for this cohort.

Just finished my phone interview with Swedish, they said I won't find out until mid-May about doing a panel interview (but she hopes we can be notified earlier). My number one position was Neuro ICU then med-surg and emerg.

Some questions they asked:

Explain volunteer experiences, why nursing, qualities of an RN resident, why Swedish, favorite placement and why.

Really easy going interview, about 20 mins, but I was so nervous.

Did anyone get a second interview yet?

When was your first interview with a recruiter? I had mine a month ago and still have not heard back about a panel interview. No luck getting ahold of the recruiter for status either.

I interviewed a little over a month ago as well. I have read on here they might start calling by mid-April and maybe until the end of the month so I'm not too anxious yet. Was just curious if anyone else may have heard from them.

Nope! I emailed my HR contact early this month, but have not heard from her. Considering that the next new grad cohort is not until August, I'm trying to be patient. =]

Hi I have phone interview in next hour, so excited. I'm from Colorado. Wish me luck.

Is anybody else out of state as well. Do I have to fly there for interviews?

I am from out of state, and my second interview was over skype. Now my third interview, I have to fly there and pay for the flight myself (pricey, but worth it if I get the job??)
