I have precepted RN's that are new to speciality or new to acute care with nursing experience greater than 2 years. You don't necessarily have to be a new RN (less than a year) experience to be in the program. That is what is great about Swedish, they really want all new hires to succeed and will invest resources to do so.
Hi rkitty198, thanks so much for reaching out. I am a behavioral health RN and am newly enrolled in an online DNP-PMHNP program. I am relocating to the area and am looking for a job in behavioral health but have also considered the benefits of possibly enrolling in a med-surg residency/fellow program as I went straight into the OR as a circulator when I graduated nursing school. I have about 8 months of experience in behavioral health (but also have a psychology degree/other BH experience) and a year in the OR. I will have been a nurse for two years in November. My school is affiliated with Swedish so I could also have the opportunity to complete my clinical rotations for NP there. I'm a little confused about which specialities they are offering and whether I would qualify for a residency or fellow position and will be contacting recruiters regarding this after this holiday weekend. I know I haven't really asked a specific question but I would appreciate any insight or advice you could offer!

Just out of curiosity - which school are you completing your DNP at?

Just wondering if anyone has been contacted for the 2017 August Residency at Swedish hospital?
