Swedish August Residency 2017

U.S.A. Washington

Published

Just wondering if anyone has been contacted for the 2017 August Residency at Swedish hospital?

I also received an invite for an interview today; I suspect they sent out quite a few.

Hi everyone...I also just received an invitation to do a video interview through HireVue. I was wondering if anyone knew what type of questions are asked or what your thoughts were on it in general. I applied for the November Cohort OB. Really wanted OR but they did not have that option.

So I received this timeline today via email (as I am sure many of you did)

Applications accepted: through August 18th

Video interviews (if you were invited to complete one): through 8/21

Telephone calls to set-up an on-site interview: 8/21-8/31

On-site interviews: 8/28-9/15

Offers: 8/28-9/22

And for pay in the Seattle area, the base pay is competitive, but it's the differentials that aren't as competitive. My friend at Harborview hired as a new grad said she makes $29.28/hour adding $4/hour for nights and $4/hour for weekends.

Did you have to email the recruiter for that info? I got an update but with no dates

No I did not email the recruiter. What email did you get? Here's the message in full

Good Afternoon,

This message is intended to be an update to your recent submission for our November 2017 RN Residency Cohort.

At this point, we are still a little ahead of the process. Our hiring managers and HR team are still wrapping up and preparing for the August 2017 Cohort to begin. The hiring managers are working behind the scenes to determine the number of residents they have openings for on their respective units. Our nursing executives are working with our friends in finance to ensure they can approve these positions quickly, once they have been identified.

Many of you have asked what the application flow and timelines might look like. This is a broad outline of what you should expect (dates are subject to change):

Applications accepted: through August 18th

Video interviews* (if you were invited to complete one): through 8/21

Telephone calls to set-up an on-site interview: 8/21-8/31

On-site interviews: 8/28-9/15

Offers: 8/28-9/22

*If you have video interviewed already, you will not be required to do it again. If you have not been selected for a video interview, you have not yet been selected to move forward in the process.

Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications, we will not be able to provide you with individual updates by phone or email.

If you are not moving forward in the process, you will be notified by email no later than 14 days before the November Cohort will begin.

I would encourage you to watch the status of your application in our system. Many times we will keep your application active, even if you were not selected in the first round of interviews.

If you have additional questions that have not been answered in this correspondence, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email [email protected] or during my office hours of 9a-5p by phone 503-384-2535.

Please note, I will be on vacation 8/14-8/18.

Thank you and good luck!

Hi All,

I've also applied for the November cohort and I just finished my hirevue interview. I was wondering if any of you that completed the interview has heard anything back yet?!? How long does it usually take to hear something?

Thanks

I haven't heard anything back yet, I did my Hirevue interview a little over a month ago. In an email I got it said we should hear back August 21 - 31, but that those dates were subject to change. In-person interview would occur 8/28-9/15

Thanks coug_nurse! :)

I haven't heard anything either about in person interviews. Sounds like they are a week behind schedule.

Hi I have also applied for the Norvember corhort, and I just got a email about doing a interview via Hirevue. Just wondering if anyone knows how this thing works? feeling reallng nervous becuase I have never done online interview before :(

Hey eileenlin1108,

I completed the HireVue interview about 2 weeks ago. It begins with basic multiple choice questions and options to select your areas of interest in order (FYI, you only get a first and second choice). It then poses a question to you, you have an unlimited amount of time to prepare your answer. Once you hit record, you only have 3 minutes to state your answer and you can't pause the recording or go back and re-record. It finishes by asking you what area you completed your senior practicum in and a few other questions (no essays). Not to worry, the recruiter (not hiring manager) is the only one who sees it. From what I understand, he uses the initial interview to help place you into appropriate positions.

Thank you so much!!!! :)
