I want to become a nurse just like most of you. I am considering Apollo but the price scares me:o!! It's super fast!! It'll be great to be done in 22 months. What do you guys think?
No, there is nothing on that website. Please post a link where you got your information.
Hmm, I think you overlooked it. If you go to the nevada board of nursing page and click on "Annual Reports", you'll find it :)
Here's the link I found it on:
http://www.nursingboard.state.nv.us/annual%20reports/
Doesn't look like they have 07's data up yet though.

Yep, that's it. They make it kinda of difficult to find. It's in the overview section of the annual report I think and does not include NSC's 2007 accelerated class pass rates.
D
I would be concerned about paying so much when the outcome is so uncertain... the below pass percentages would be something to consider prior to paying that kind of money to any institution.
"Apollo College-Las Vegas has a 47 % passrate for the fourth quarter and 55% for the full year of 2009. Board members expressed continuing concern and directed the Apollo College-Las Vegas be noticed to attend the March Board meeting for an update. Touro University's passrate has fallen below 80% which is of concern. It was moved and seconded the Board direct Apollo College-Las Vegas and Touro University appear at the March Board meeting to discuss their below 80% first time NCLEX passrate".
I don't think Apollo's program is RN, I think it is only CNA. I'm not positive, though. I know Las Vegas College's program was that expensive and it was for CNA. They tried to "sell" me on practicing sutures on chicken legs and stuff, which is something that only med students/doctors can do LOL!

The Las Vegas campus only has two programs. They are Nursing and Respiratory Care. The nursing program will get you a ASN and you will sit and take the NCLEX for your RN license. Some campuses only have LPN but the Vegas campus is RN.
I was at NSC the other day and found out that I was looking at 3 or so years just to apply for their nursing program. I transferred in as a junior but they also do not give you a fresh start for your GPA and with a 2.7 I would spend time re-taking classes just to get the GPA up. So, three years just to apply and possibly five years or more total to graduate? Yeah, I am going for the option that although a little more intense is quicker. At 37 I am ready to learn and to be employed.
