Hello everybody! I have used all nurses for a few years or so but never thought about starting an account until now. I am a nursing student in Nevada and a research paper has come up. The thesis is how writing skills can impact patient care, the survey I made to fit the paper requires minimal effort and is only 10 questions long. The information collected from this survey won't be published nor will I use it without your permission. Main point of the survey is just to see some percentages on the questions answered. Oh yeah and this research is due monday..so please help a fellow future nurse!!! -Ivan

Posting a survey on Sunday for a paper due Monday? I don't believe this is a serious post.

I'm trying to be nice and do this survey. You should probably specify that it's only meant for people with Bachelor's or Master's Degrees in Nursing or MDs.
Also, there is clearly a middle line between experiencing med errors "often" and "not at all."
And what does this mean? "Do you always make sure to follow up on the tasks performed with other healthcare partners? (like other nurses or physicians)" This question doesn't even make sense to me and what does it have to do with writing skills? And "maybe" and "sometimes" more or less sound like the same answer here.

I hope as a college student you are intelligent enough to understand any "data" you gather from that survery is absolutely worthless. First off you have NO IDEA if the people answering it are nurses. Not to mention you have no different qualifiers (RNs, LPN, CNA CRNA)??? Do you want psych nurses answering? Do you want ICU nurses answering? Do you want nurses with 2 months experience as well as 20 years? You are just saying ..answer these questions..whoever you are..and I am turning it in as a legit survey. Unreal.

Undergrads don't usually take courses in research and rarely have informed faculty input into how to construct a valid survey instrument. This is how you learn, OP, and I hope you figure out how to do it better next time!
