Hi everyone!! I recently applied for the absn program at SUNY Downstate for fall 2025. I couldn't find any threads for this application cycle, so I decided to start one. I've looked through the previous ones and was able to find some answers, but I figured we should have our own. Good luck!! 

Anyone take the TEAS online? Or know anything about how downstate feels about that?

I took the TEAS online. I think it's fine because they accepted mine.

Yeah, same. They told me they "prefer" in person but not sure how serious they actually take that.

Hi Ashley,

I do believe that Downstate does accept prerequisites completed online as long as the curiculum of the class matches the college's requirements (sciences are debatable because of lab hours for the sciences). I am currently enrolled in a hybrid A&P course, but I haven't been told that these credits wouldn't be accepted!

Hi all! 
I was wondering if you guys know further information about the application process. I submitted my application with the TEAS on Jan 7th. With my status switched to file forwarded to review but it's been 3 weeks now with no change. I do an explanation mark on "bachelors in any discipline" however my degree is not conferred until January 31st I'm not sure if this delays my status on getting an interview. Good luck to you!!

On their application page, they say you should only have one science course IP, and I assumed that applied to Summer, since technically Spring semester would be the 2nd to last semester. But they said the same thing to me as well about it being on hold/people still getting accepted after Spring grades. Fingers crossed for us both!

 

Also, anyone comfortable sharing their GPA/scores? Curious to know TEAS scores from other applicants to get a better understanding of how competitive this upcoming year will be. 

Hi! I just got accepted! Overall TEAS Score 94. Reading 97.4, Math 91.2, Science 97.7, English 90.9. My overall GPA is 3.8. Science GPA is 4.0 so far. I'm taking my last science course now. Best of luck to everyone!

Congratulations!! Great scores. Did you take the TEAS online or in person? 

Also, was there an interview?
