Hi everyone, 

I haven't seen any thread for the SUNY Downstate ABSN program for the Fall 2024 start so I thought so here's one for anyone applying/attending/etc!

I think they go in order so I'm hoping maybe they are still getting to us, but I'm not sure since they extended the deadline

I'm thinking the same. I sent in mine 1/31/24 with the test score. But had submitted everything else back in October.

I didn't know they extended the deadline!! That kinda sucks, I've been anxious to hear back. Hopefully they do go in order still. Also, does anyone know why they extended it? Maybe they didn't get enough applicants (which would therefore give us who applied already a better shot haha)

Based on the previous years it seems like they extend the deadline every year so I don't think it means much. I hope since they go in order they still haven't gotten to us yet.

For those who status states, "faculty screener assigned" what was your prior status and how long did you stay at that status before moving to "faculty screener assigned" status? Thanks.

Before mine was "forwarded to program" or something similar once it was sent for review and then a few days after it changed to "faculty screener assigned."

I'm wondering if anyone ever gets accepted if they miss the minimum score by 3%.
 

I did well in Math and Science (above 80%). 
 

My Reading is 77%. I've exhausted my 2 attempts that are allowed within an application period. Had I known the application deadline would have been extended, that would have allowed more time to fine tune my Reading before taking the exam for the 2nd time.

Yeah me too. I wasn't aware that we were allowed to take it twice within the application period because online it says "once per cycle". So, I just hoped for the best by placing my exam on the 30th. I got above 80% on math and science too, but reading I got a 79.5% ?

They wrote on my Admissions checklist,  "failed to obtain the minimum of 80 in the Reading section for both trials"

I want them to tell me if I should wait for a response or whether they will send over my application to Nursing.

I heard that they still accepted ppl who didn't too well on the TEAS, so maybe you can wait for their response? I'm not too sure either?. But I feel like they shouldn't penalize you too much if you did well on the Math and Science.

I was just emailed for an interview! So it looks like decisions aren't on hold until the new deadline. 

Also, I met the TEAS required scores for math and reading, but I was 0.5% short of the recommended score for science. Will update as I get further decisions but it doesn't seem like it completely disqualified me!
