SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University ABSN 2024

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone,

I haven't seen any thread for the SUNY Downstate ABSN program for the Fall 2024 start so I thought so here's one for anyone applying/attending/etc!

I think you guys would have to talk to an advisor/admissions office at SUNY Downstate to figure out if your credits can be applied towards that. I had that problem with the English elective prereq where they didn't realize CWL 202 was Creative Writing which is an English elective.

My sociology credit was Introduction to Sociology and my anthropology credit was Anthropology of Sexuality and Culture. Both of the names were written in the course.

I submitted my application January 30th.  But my application status says hold for information.  I'm currently enrolled in 3 pre reqs.  It lists the due date for my final 3 grades in May but what if by that time they don't have anymore seats?

On the TEAS I got a 92 in Reading, a 93 in Math but a little under 70 in Science but I think that was due to me not yet completing Microbiology and anatomy II (currently enrolled this semester). Do you think they'll take that into consideration?

Im just really anxious and not sure if I still have a chance.  All of my completed prereqs are A's and B's only one C+ in chemistry lecture but a B in the lab.  Any advice?  Do you guys think I'll still have a shot once the semesters over?

I'm currently in that same situation. Any update with it?

No update as of yet. My application status still says hold for information & my final grades for these 3 classes are due 5/24. I don't think I'll hear back until May once I submit the grades.

I was told that they usually go forward with only two pre requisites. So maybe updating them with your grades through out might help.

How are you guys submitting the deposit fee? It isn't giving me an option to do it, all it says is "This page is incomplete"

Hi Jay, I'm going through the same problem along with someone else. I'm going to call and ask what's wrong today.

Hi guys, so for anyone who has the "the page is not completed" problem with the deposit fee, here is what we need to do:

1. Email the bursar office stating that we cannot pay the deposit fee due to the page's error. The email is [email protected]

2. The bursar office will fix it and once it done, we can pay the deposit fee and the bursar office will email us the receipt.

3. Once we get the receipt, email [email protected] the copy of the receipt, in addition to uploading the receipt onto your profile to ensure further verification of payment.

*lastly, if anyone else had questions regarding baccalaureate verification, they said that our official transcript from where we got our bachelor's degree should usually verify that. I'm going to scan a picture of my degree though just in case.

Thanks so much I'll try that! The official transcripts from my school(s) have been received but no baccalaureate verification yet so I'll just try to scan my bachelor's degree.

I have taken the TEAS four times already but failed to get an 80 in reading. I got above 80 in the other subjects. Will my application be discarded if I didn't get the 80 in reading?

Hey A.N.! It honestly depends on your overall application. I'm not sure how far off your range is for the reading score, but I got accepted with 79.5. I talked to the admissions office and discussed my some possibilities, which gave me closure. So I suggest you call the office so they can tell you about your overall application. They do really look at your overall application.

I also got a 79.5 in reading. Thank you so much for your reply. I will definitely do so.

Hi there, I emailed admissions and they told me they will accept a 79.5 in reading. I do believe this is the absolute minimum they are willing to accept.

Best of luck!
