I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2021. Being that the application period just opened, I’m sure we can all benefit from sharing information in regards to the process.

Hi Guys

I am very new to this formats so I got little confused. If we don't get selected for fall 2021, is there accelerate nursing program available for Summer 2021 at SUNY Downstate, and if yes can someone tell me the application deadlines for Summer??

There is no Summer start date. Every year it starts Fall. Only one starting time a year

Mine has said “forwarded to program for review” since 11/20......it’s making me nervous haha

Mine says the same thing since that date as well. I tried to ask the admissions office if interviews started yet but they were just like if you’re qualified, you’ll get a phone call LOL

mine still says screening in progress too on the main page. if you’re on the phone, click the box with the 3 lines the click accelerated bs -> status -> admissions checklist. it lets you know if you owe them any documents and whether or not an admissions officer is still reviewing your application.

yess I have been checking that and everything I sent says received and nothing is missing. I submitted everything that was missing and it has a check mark next to them.  I thought after I submitted everything it will say forwarded to program but nope.

do we have to send them official transcripts from other schools or is unofficial transcript enough?

I sent in my fall grades but it hasn’t changed to received. When did you send yours in?

they did not receive my grades until I emailed admission! that is why I recommend you send them an email that you sent them in already. I honestly do not think they look at it until you send them an email that you sent it. 

I submitted my grades on December 23 and they marked it received yesterday once I sent them the email

Agreed! I had to email them twice about adding my CLEP scores to my application before it actually got added.
