Hi everyone,

I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2021. Being that the application period just opened, I’m sure we can all benefit from sharing information in regards to the process.

I submitted my grades on December 23 and they marked it received yesterday once I sent them the email

Anyone have any updates? I emailed admissions about my status" screening in process" and they sent me an email back saying I've been added to the queue?? that was 4 days ago and my status still did not change. I am afraid my application will not be transferred to the department. yikes! I do not know what to do!

I still don’t have any updates. I keep answering every phone call thinking it’s them and it’s just a scam call ://. My application says that I owe proof of Spring registration. I submitted it like a month ago and but it’s still not marked as received. I’m not really sure what’s going on over there or how backed up the admissions office is. Every time I email them to bring it up, they mention that documents are looked at the order they’re received in and that my application is currently under program review anyway.

Mine says "Screening in Process" on the main page but "File forwarded to Program for Review" on the Status page within the application.. Anyone else in that boat?

Has anyone heard anything from admissions? I'm really hoping to hear from them this week about possible interviews.

LOL so I emailed them today because I needed to upload an updated resume as I was promoted at my current job, so I asked them on my email if there was a timeline for interviews/decisions. They responded and didn't address my question about the interviews, so I followed up again and received "it remains at the discretion of the program. It's ongoing"..........so basically I haven't heard anything from admissions either LOL

Do recommendations have to only be from science professors or can they be any kind?

It can be any kind. One of my recommendations is from a supervisor at a previous job. 

Edit: this is from the website. “Your letters should be written by a current/former College Science Professor or an employer/supervisor, or another college professor. Recommendations by individuals other than your College Professor or Employer/Supervisor will NOT be considered.”
