Hi everyone,

I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2021. Being that the application period just opened, I’m sure we can all benefit from sharing information in regards to the process.

Is there anybody like me with all the prerequisites done before completing the application back in January, with GPA=4.0 and TEAS in the 90s and still not having an interview? I am getting so frustrated.. I wonder what are their parameters to choose people for an interview? Is it just random or what?

I don't think they have an algorithm. It feels super random. I applied back in October. 4.0 GPA, 98% TEAS. I got called for an interview just this week after having given up. 

Remember too that this is an unprecedented year: they've received more applications than ever. So it's not a complete reflection on your quality as a candidate.

I’m in the same boat. Second time applying. 4.0 prereqs, completed last year. Good TEAS. Great recos. I’ve heard nothing.

I just checked my application status on their website homepage, and it says "Application started" now. Does this mean anything?

I just checked mine and is says the exact same thing ? It has been “Screening complete” since early April and now it says “Application started”. I am not sure if it’s good or bad though… Guys any thoughts?

Can any of those who was already accepted share their status? Also, did the status change somehow before you received your interview call/email?

Here's hoping the people who are getting contacted late get in!  I am super surprised that they have not filled their slots though.  Maybe some people applied, interviewed, got accepted, and then realized they could not swing it financially to forfeit any sort of employment for 15 months?  Or maybe they are building their wait list?  One thing we do know for sure is that they conducted many interviews in the Spring.

 

What would be awesome is if they decided they could expand the number of people they can accept into the program!

Hi! I got accepted last week and my status also changed to "Application started" Maybe it's a mistake in the system

Now, my status also says Application Started and prior to that it was Forwarded to Program for Review since January. 
 

Big thanks to everyone whose been updating the forum and congrats to those who are in! Fingers crossed to those still waiting ???

*Phew* Glad I'm not the only one though. Let's see, this uncertainty waiting game is definitely stressful.

Mine says the same thing. I actually noticed mine after my interview. IDK if it means we got in or not but I’m terrified cause like I said I only had 30 mins to prepare for my interview and I’m not sure how it went. 

 

btw I think they are doing interviews still! my friend had his a week before mine and got accepted!

No...mine says:
"Refer to the below checklist for an update on your application. A list of outstanding course(s)/document(s) is denoted below.  Your application will remain on hold pending receipt of all items listed below.  Your application status will be updated once the Evaluator has reviewed your completed application."

But I am currently completing my last two prerequisites.
