SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University FNP Fall of 2020

Hey, I applied to SUNY Downstate FNP program for fall of 2020. I’m a little nervous. Has anyone heard back yet?

I submitted application in the end of December 2019.

No interview.

I got rejected today via email.

OMG, I’m sorry! I sent an email to admission today regard to the application status. I’m very frustrating and concerning right now.

Hi guys. Just posting for reference

submitted my application Jan 31st.

zoom interview with Director and two other candidates on April 27th.

got acceptance email on April 29th. I did not have to write an essay after the interview.

The interview questions started off asking about yourself and something unique about you, then the director drew her questions from what I said about myself. For instance, I spoke about my patient advocacy activities outside of work, and her other questions were based on that. Other questions she asked included “how do you think healthcare would change after Covid-19?” And “how can hospitals have an equal distribution of PPE during the crisis.”

Me too. I sent an email to admission regarding to my application. The replied was “your application still in the program” I assume they are still interviewing people at this point. This is very frustrating when I had the interview more than 1.5 months and still haven’t heard anything, yet other applicants already got their response a week after their interview. The wait is brutal this is all I can tell you. :(

WOW!! That’s a long time. I can only imagine how anxious and frustrated you must feel. Can you email the person who set up the interview? Have you also applied to other programs? I’m sorry you’re going through this. I would rather be told no than have to wait that long for an answer. That’s frustrating.

Yea, I’ve been patiently waiting for the reply until I see how fast other applicants have gotten their reply back. It’s very frustrating. I don’t know emailing the person who schedule for the appointment will help because he’s not in admission department. I will follow up with the admission on Monday again.

Hi everyone! I have been accepted into the FNP program starting fall 2021. I was wondering if anyone could share how they are liking the program thus far, are you able to work full time, part time? any insight would be greatly appreciated! thanks so much
