Hey Everyone!

I figured I should start a new thread for the upcoming round of decisions. How are you all feeling? What are your backgrounds? Have you applied to other schools? My application is in the review progress, so my fingers are crossed and hopes are high!

Looking forward to the conversation :)

Lauren

alivera I sent mine in on 1/7 also, i'm not sure what order they decide this in but maybe some of your paperwork took longer to get processed or maybe the recommendations took longer to get in?

Mordydavid- I think you're right. I noticed it took them almost 4 days to process my application fee, which I submitted on the 9th. So that could be what held up my app. Though it is now checked off. I'm going to touch base with them, or try to, just to be sure.

Also, one of my references submitted his rec. at the last minute. That could also be it. 2 recommendations is required, yes?

@alivera Yes, 2 rec's are required, either professional or academic.

I think the Faculty screener may just be there so they know who was assigned our application. I have FACULTY SCREENER5 and I handed my application in on Jan 1. Like I said this is just my guess.

@Lauren Bear First off, thank you so much for starting this thread! Also, you mentioned you submitted your app quite early, in Nov, any changes on your application that we can look out for? =)

It seems that I'm in the same place as a lot of you - FACULTY SCREENER4 :)

Before it said that, it said "Application Sent to Committee" on my application page.

mine still says "screening in process" i'm hoping that's not a bad sign! I applied pretty late and didn't take my TEAS until Jan 14th... plus I had to resubmit some transcripts about a week ago.. keeping my fingers crossed!

@sray09 Mine still says screening in process too. I took the TEAS a long time ago but had to resubmit the transcripts too so maybe that is what is holding us up. Hope we make a move on that checklist soon!

I wonder if the application process goes through several stages of screening process? If that would be the case, the first stage of the screening process is submitting all required documents of the application and making sure the applicant meets TEAS score requirement. Last year the admissions committee didn't even see my application because I fell short on the required entrance reading score. Second stage would then be the admissions committee, where the prerequisite grid is verified to make sure the courses taken and the GPA requirement according to the standard of "admissions requirement only". I received an email around late October 2013 saying that I need to send enrollment confirmation and transcript to satisfy 3 sociology credits. Took the CLEP exam, passed it, revised the prerequisite grid, and sent it to admissions along with the transcript on dec 18. Admissions committee replied back and said that my application has been completed. I assume that faculty screening have a different set of standards on picking their candidate, such as: extra curricular activities, awards, experience, passion towards the nursing field, recommendation letters, etc.

That's just an assumption. I wonder if all the applicants in the faculty screening stage have completed all the prerequisite courses already or if they have prerequisites still in progress?

From my understanding, you can have a maximum of 2 opened science pre-req's when applying but you need to be registered and pass with a C or higher in those classes during the spring before the program starts.

Does the GPA of 3.0 only apply to the CGPA or for the cumulative and the science GPA as well? What if the science GPA is below 3.0 but CGPA is above? I understand that would make me less competitive, but would that make me still eligible?

Just hoping that I get lucky cause I know there are far better candidates.. :-)
