  1. Anyone still not hear anything at all like me? I decided to go to another school that has orientation the same day and that's only 4 weeks away. Regardless of whether or not I'm going to downstate, I would still like to know if I was accepted...
  2. The lack of communication and help from admissions has really changed my opinion of and desire to go to the school. They don't seem like they value us as applicants and possible students or have any desire to get us through the process smoothly. I decided to accept an offer from a different school in nyc. Even though the price is significantly different, I will be able to continue living with my parents and commute when I would have had to move in order to attend downstate. Regardless, best of luck to everyone ! If I ever hear from downstate and find out whether or not I was accepted, I will let you guys know
  3. I'm in for FNP!! So excited to meet everyone! Did anyone else love the falling confetti ?!
  4. The decisions were given out on 2/6-2/7 the past few years
  5. Hi MackLF, I applied to Pace for the January 2014 start and ended up getting wait listed because apparently the program filled up before I even submitted the application. Anyways, I ended up getting an interview and was given a spot for the Fall 2014 start and placed a deposit as a back up if i don't get into CUSON. If you're applying to Pace, I would say to get your app in ASAP to be on the safe side. Good Luck!!!
  6. Luckily, I work for a surgeon who understands the anxiety we're all going through right now!
  7. My application has finally been sent to the committee after 2 months of waiting! Hopefully this means they are really getting going with the process and we will all receive our decisions soon!
  8. I know! I ended up placing a deposit for one of them so that I wouldn't lose the spot and am using it as my backup.
  9. I think every school is different. I was accepted to 2 others and had 3 weeks for one and 10 days for another.
  10. mine still says "screening in process" i'm hoping that's not a bad sign! I applied pretty late and didn't take my TEAS until Jan 14th... plus I had to resubmit some transcripts about a week ago.. keeping my fingers crossed!
  11. Anyone think tomorrow will be the day? I hope all these storms don't delay the process! I can't wait any longer!!!
  12. Thanks so much! That definitely puts my mind at ease a little bit.. The thought of not working at all is making me nervous!
  13. @brooklyn2012 What is your schedule like? I'm asking mostly to find out if it would be possible to work maybe 1 day a week just to make it a little easier to stay on top of bills.
  14. @cherryhead81 hmm maybe they'll get back to me ... I actually noticed that if you go onto the website where you submitted your app (not the login for the checklist) and log in to view your actual application, you can see your documents that have been uploaded. I checked mine and they attached my new files and my TEAS V transcript, so I guess it went though the right way
  15. Also need to keep in mind that it's possible to work as a registered nurse after the first year. At the info session I went to they said that it's possible to take a year off to work after the BSN portion and still hold your spot in your masters program... I recall them saying that it's even required to take that year for some programs. Seems like a good chance to really save some money while also paying back interest on some loans to keep them from getting too out of hand. Gotta maximize all options and find the best way to get through it! Like @wanobenurse said, it's an investment in our futures!
