I wanted to start a thread about the upcoming application process for SUNY Downstate ABSN. There is a fantastic thread for the previous round of applications last year, and I thought this would be a good forum for us to share any information that we might have about Downstate's admission process as we go through it together. Good luck everyone!!!
Hi, I'm currently in the program at downstate. You can find parking here and there but the school has a parking lot where you can purchase weekly passes. A book of 5 passes will cost you 20. Otherwise you can sign up for the "parking lottery" but usually the waiting list for that is a few years. You won't be on campus every day so you just need to figure out a way for those days
Hi all. I also applied to SUNY downstate but was thinking it was a reach school to begin with. My application has been saying incomplete review, which I assumed is because I still have two science pre-reqs in progress. Just now I got an email from them letting me know they never received my TEAS score report! I immediately sent over my unofficial report and contacted ATI to have an official sent again. I'm now freaking out because I feel like they might've been able to review my application had the score report made it to them.
@Chaitee, first off congrats on the acceptance! The schedule varies from semester to semester and I believe they're changing things up for you guys for the summer. You will most likely have 2-3 days of class for most of the day and 1-2 days of clinicals. You will get to know your class schedule during orientation but clinical days and times won't be determined until shortly after. Also, I recommend creating a facebook group for your cohort to share information as you receive them. Let me know if you have any other questions.
