Haven't seen any forums yet on the SUNY Downstate ABSN 2017-2018 class. Has anyone applied?? Or heard from them already?

Can anyone in the program already offer from feedback? I've been reading horror stories about other programs.

I missed the deadline for downstate so I will probably have to apply for next year if anything.

I heard pace is intense and a lot of the students fail out.

I was put on the alternate list at the very beginning of February (submitted my application in October, but they held it until January for a Fall science grade) and got in today. See you in the summer! I have no idea how they run the waitlist, or whether it is in order or ranked, all I can say is get all your checklist stuff in asap.

congrats!!! I have almost everything complete except lab work, but theyre taking forever to update it on my account. Were all of your requirements checked off? Because when I called them they said they had everything except the lab tests.. but just didnt check it off online.

I have everything in, except for a transcript I know they have but haven't checked off yet. I emailed them a bunch of times (both admissions and health) to make sure they had stuff and were checking it off. Honestly, you have to be so on top of them just so they'll do what they're supposed to be doing.

sooooo youre saying theres a chance! Haha I am still completing a Microbio class this spring, and will be done in time before the program starts, if i am lucky enough to get pulled from the list like you! thanks for the info!

Yes, an email that looked exactly like the initial decision, but when I logged into the online application, there was a new letter saying I'd been accepted.

Hey Gals and Guys,

I'm from the current class and Congrats to those who were accepted! Can't wait to see you in the halls for a few months! I guess if you'd like I can answer any questions you have. If I don't know the answer, I can definitely try to find someone who does. Congrats again!
