Hi All!
I wanted to start this thread to create some conversation about our application to SUNY Downstate's ABSN program beginning Summer 2013. I've heard a lot of pros and cons about the program and I would like us all to share some of our thoughts! Do any of you have a Bachelor's already? If so what is it in? Where did you take your pre reqs and stuff? What are some of your grades? I took all of my pre-reqs at Suffolk Community College. I received an A in A&P I & II (incl labs), Microbio (incl lab), Statistics, Psychology, Sociology, Developmental Psych, Group Theory/Social Psychology, & English I. I received a B+ in Chemistry and English II. My TEAS V scores are Reading: 91 and Math: 87. I also have my BA from Stony Brook University. Also, I applied to SB last year and did not get accepted to there program. I'm afraid the same thing will happen with Downstate and I do not know what more a prospective student can do! If there are any recent grads of the ABSN program out there please give a shout out! Any advice or opinions will help! Good luck everyone and hopefully we will all be together in the summer!!!!

Morning,
I also tried to join the facebook group but it said "closed" for me to?
Can anyone tell me how long we have to get our immunization/physical paperwork in?
Also -I did the criminal background check thing last week, but on my checklist a red X is still in the "status" column. Is this the case for anyone else?
Has anyone purchased anything yet? June 3rd is going to creep up so quickly.
I still have a red X near the CBC in my checklist too. I emailed them with the receipt last week, and they responded that they received it. So I guess that means they haven't gotten around to updating the checklist. I think we need to have all our medical forms in by April 20th. What do we need to purchase before June 3?
Called Downstate and they told me they made a decision on April 4 (they wouldn't say what that decision was so that wasn't helpful). Anyone get a waitlist notification or rejection yet? I'm less than two miles from them, surprised it would take so long to get to me.[/quote']I just called and was told they have decisions and should receive it by the end of this week. I don't feel too hopeful but we'll see. Best of luck!

This must be true since my checklist changed and it includes an EOP Verification Form, Deposit, Acceptance Response Form, and a proof of citizenship form, as well as my completed health checklist from last year. I think i'm in then?? I was working out when I looked at my checklist and started shaking and nearly hyperventilating when I saw the acceptance response form. I'm pretty sure last year it said alternate/acceptance response form when I was waitlisted. Ahhh I hope it's true and I receive good news on paper in a few days. Did anyone have the same things on their checklist when they found out they were accepted?

Thanks so much Jeanette, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Too much to hope that any other recent/current students want to chime in?
