SUNY Brockport ABSN 2021-2022

Published

Hey everyone! I just wanted to start a thread for this cycle's ABSN program at Brockport that's starting next Summer 2021. It's been tough getting in touch with the program director this Summer (understandably so, this year has been bonkers!) and I figured this thread could be a good place to talk about the program and post questions that others might be able to answer! It's still early in the game but I thought it'd be a good idea nonetheless to have it up and ready to go ?

Check your email, everyone!! Just received word from the program director that I've been accepted!

I got in too!

Hi everyone! My name is Emily and I just got accepted, too!

Congrats @HopefulFutureRN1 and @EmilyCoyk!! Is Brockport your top choice or are you still waiting to hear back from other programs before you commit?

Thank you, congratulations to you as well!! I'm local to the area, so Brockport is my top! I am also waiting to hear from Buffalo, though! How about you?

@EmilyCoyk I'm also waiting to hear back from Buffalo and Binghamton! For financial reasons, those 3 are my top picks for sure but as a NYC-er, I'm leaning toward Binghamton as it's half the distance away! I think Brockport is the only one that does critical care rotations out of those 3 (something I might potentially be interested in) and having that extra Summer semester at Brockport is also appealing since the credit/clinical load is more spread out!

@kalebiscuits Yes, the in-state tuition is definitely nice! I didn’t even know that about the critical care rotations, that is cool, & having an extra Summer to spread out credits and clinical load is a nice way to look at it! Good luck to you in the rest of your decisions! Do you know when previous admits found out about Buffalo? I tried looking in some other threads but couldn’t find anything.

Thank you! Good luck to you too as well! But since you already got into your top choice, sounds like you don’t even need it! ? I literally looked at all the UB threads all the way back to like 2015 and it seems every year they heard between Dec 1 the earliest and Dec 12 the latest! So definitely in the first two weeks if they follow the same pattern! Brockport needs their deposit by Dec 14, so hopefully that holds true!

Congratulations to all who were accepted ? I was waitlisted so I'll be waiting to hear if any spots open up!

For anyone who has already paid the deposit that’s due on Monday, would you mind telling me how much it is please? Doesn’t seem like we can see that info until we say “yes, I’m attending” on that admission form!

It was $150 I believe
