SUNY Brockport ABSN 2021-2022

Published

Hey everyone! I just wanted to start a thread for this cycle's ABSN program at Brockport that's starting next Summer 2021. It's been tough getting in touch with the program director this Summer (understandably so, this year has been bonkers!) and I figured this thread could be a good place to talk about the program and post questions that others might be able to answer! It's still early in the game but I thought it'd be a good idea nonetheless to have it up and ready to go ?

It was $150 I believe

Okay thank you!

Does anyone know what the program costs, roughly? I saw UB has the program cost on their page, and I imagine it would be similar for Brockport, but just curious if anyone actually saw the cost?

Not sure. I tried calculating it based on their normal semester rates and came out around $18-20k or so. Unsure how accurate that is.

Also do you happen to know how large the cohort is? Trying to get as much info as possible so I can weigh my options. I think I’ll try getting touch with the program coordinator soon.

Thanks for that info! I’m not sure the cohort size, I saw that Buffalo’s is on their website but didn’t find Brockport’s. I’m under the assumption that Brockport is a smaller cohort size. I don’t have any proof or statistics to back that up, it’s just the feeling I got.

I remember reading an old thread on here from some years ago that it was around 30-something. I should find out if that has changed. I really like the idea of a smaller cohort! I think I'll call the director tomorrow to ask about that and also the tuition price. I'll report back here if I do!

Awesome, thanks! Smaller cohorts do sound nice! From my application process and correspondence with the programs, I definitely felt like Brockport was a smaller group. I could be off base, but really appreciated the director’s willingness to speak with me directly about the application process.

Is there anyone in this group right now that accepted their admissions offer?

I initially accepted but withdrew after getting accepted to Binghamton and deciding to attend their program instead!

Ah! Congratulations!! ☺️ That’s super exciting, and closer to your home if I’m remembering correctly! Best of luck to you!

Good morning, I have applied to Brockport’s FNP program for the fall. I would love to hear, from those already in the program, are finding it. I would like to attend full time, if possible. How is it, finding a place to do clinical. I have spoken to a person in the program, briefly. I am trying to get a feel for how the tests and papers are. I have also emailed with Dr. Elizabeth Heavey. She is very approachable. I live on Long Island. Anyone else? My email is: [email protected]. Thank you.
