Hey! Has anyone applied for the 2nd degree program at SUNY Brockport for the May, 2020 start? I haven’t seen a form yet for this upcoming cohort.
I just received an email today stating that I have been accepted. I had to pinch myself! The director had told me we wouldn’t hear back until the beginning of January, so this was pretty shocking. Did anyone else hear back?
Hey, @Eric.Nilsson93! Congrats on your acceptance. I’ll be relocating to the area as well. My plan is to call around with some landlords in March, and hopefully set up some viewings while I’m up there for the orientation on April 4th, and hopefully sign a lease that week. What’s your plan?

I will be joining you as part of the cohort staring in May. Is anyone else not from the Rochester area/ looking to find housing?
Congrats! And I am not from Rochester either, so I need housing during the program. I started looking for housing in December and I just signed a lease this month so I am all set! My advice is to start asap, I struggled for a while to find something and was constantly driving out to Brockport to see places. If you know people in the area or can find a roommate, that also helps. It can also be challenging to find someone who will take you in May as opposed to August so it's best to plan ahead. Good luck with your search!

If you don't mind me asking, where do you plan on living?
I am interested in Brockport Crossings as they have furnished 1 bedrooms but it wont be available until late June ?

I will be living in a one bedroom apt in a house on State St. I checked out Brockport Crossings in person and personally it was not for me - I thought for the price (rent included literally nothing), the place was not worth it. However, if you are relatively chill about where you're living, then it could work for someone fine. If you wanted to take the apt at Brockport Crossings, you could try Airbnb until it is available in June? It's a risk but it can be hard to find something available in May, so you have to work with what is available. After doing a lot of digging though, I find that I prefer houses as opposed to apartment complexes for the Brockport area because landlords are more flexible and affordable. It really depends on what your priorities are though. Hope this helps ?
