summer 2015 sharp San Diego new grad program

Published

Hello all....

Just wanted to start a thread for those of us that are applying to sharp San Diego's 2015 summer new grad tn program..... Just to provide support and advice. Good luck all !!!!

Also sophiak .. From what I understand there are two programs . one April start and the other june . so it is quite possible that they will be calling a little later for the June start !

Congrats on getting an interview!! My application also says "under hiring department review" for Sharp Chula Vista and Grossmont's L&D. When they called you, did they do a pre-screening of interview questions or did they just call to set up an interview time? Thanks in advance. Best of luck to you!

Hi keekster....

I wasn't contacted by HR nor was I asked any 'screening' questions. To my surprise I was contacted by the chula vista L&D unit manager to schedule the interview !

I see. Thank you for the reply. I hope I get a call too! Good luck to you on your interview!!

OMG congrats on getting an interview!! I'm out for CV L&D. I only applied for the one that the UCSD course wasn't a mandatory requirement because I have not completed it but my app now says "no longer under consideration." My NICU app is still under "hiring dept review" so wishing for the best. Hopefully we all get interviews and can work. :)

Good luck everybody!!! I take the NCLEX tomorrow and I really hope to at least get an interview. I applied for the medsurg and residency positions.

Thank you all for the kind work and well wishes ! I have been trying to get an rn job for years now (since 2012). To the point that I went back to school for my MSN a year and a half ago while raising my 2 babies. I was aimlessly sending out applications left and right resulting in one rejection after another. I thought I wanted ICU until I had my babies ... And that changed everything. I knew I wanted l&d no doubt. Focusing on l&d , I was able to complete nrp and take the maternal newborn nursing course at UCSD extension. It wasn't until I completed those two things that employers started to take interest ! Also .... I knew sharp chula was the place I wanted to work and no other. I encourage everyone to find their passion and focus their energy on that alone! I believe your passion will show in your cover letter, resume , and interview !

Good luck everyone. We worked so hard to get here .... I just wish it was easier for us all to land our dream job .

Well said!! I agree!! Positive vibes for everyone!

Glad there is a thread here where we can encourage each other. I applied for 9 positions, One of my positions has changed to under hiring dept review. Crossing my fingers hoping to get an interview. Good luck everyone!

Yay!! Just saw my name on the BRNs website!! So exciting!! I'm going to see if I can update my applications with my license #

Thanks, I am crossing my fingers!! Are you interviewing for all positions you applied for or in one specific dept? And do you know how the interview process is like? (solo, group, panel of interviewees, etc) Good luck to you on your interview :)

Chula, for their residency program, does panel interviews with three to six people from various units. Memorial and Grossmont do the same.

Hi all, I applied to four positions and am "no longer under consideration" for one of them.. the rest have not changed since 3/12. Does anyone have experience applying to this program or other new grad programs out of state? I'm currently on the east coast and wondering how the interview process would work if I were to be called for one! Of course I could travel out there but it would be difficult to do last minute.. has anyone heard of them doing phone or skype interviews??
