Just out of curiosity, how long are you all willing to commute to work in your top unit?

An hour max!

Are all of y’all new graduates or have you worked at a hospital previously??

I’ll be graduating May 8

I’m the same way about the commute. Willing to drive an hour. The problem is I looked at a few hospitals farther from me and they’d turn into 1.5 hour commute after a night shift ?

just trying to see if anyone thinks that’s doable

What other hospitals are you considering?

Specializes in Medical ICU.

So far I've applied to Emory, CHOA, Northside, and WellStar.

So I’ve seriously considered like 7 of the piedmonts. But it’s gonna be a really long commute for me and as others have said after a night shift that’s gonna be a scary thought. Emory, wellstar, choa, Piedmont, and Eastside are all the ones I applied to. I was recently told that Eastside wasn’t hiring for the units I’m interested in so I decided not to go further in the process.

Is there a way you can get days since you’re icu based?

I’m mentally preparing myself for nights because I heard the chances of getting days as a new grad in a high acuity setting are little to none. But I’d be more than happy to work nights as long as the commute isn’t crazy long. Can’t get everything I want I guess ?

I got an email for a phone interview this afternoon!! So excited!!

Awesome!! Which unit did you choose? I received a email from Northside but not a follow up from Piedmont yet.

That’s great that Northside followed up! I’ve been waiting for them for a while. So far piedmont is the only hospital I’ve heard from

@minniemoo22 I chose women’s services, NICU, or PEDs!! Women’s services is my top choice and yeah I applied to Northside and still haven’t heard back either

Same! I think I’m gonna call the recruiter Monday to check the status. Did you get Nneka as your recruiter?

@minniemoo22 No I have Cicely!! Mines also from piedmont Newnan not Atl but I live in Newnan so I guess that’s why I got that one!

I have Cicely as well! I haven’t heard from Northside. I’ve heard from Piedmont, Wellstar & Cartersville Medical Center.
