  1. Neither have I! Orientation schedule?
  2. I have not. : (
  3. @SLynn3 , CONGRATS! I think they are both great units. I haven't even started work yet so I really don't have any advice yet. : ( My main interest was cardiac and I seemed to click with the manager of the step-down unit, so those were among the reasons I chose that unit. The cardiopulmonary unit is a good place to be because you might learn a more diverse set of skills (because they take pulmonary patients too). You cannot go wrong with either unit. Congratulations!
  4. I feel for you! You are only a month in?! You need more support from your preceptor and your unit. Hang in there!
  5. for those who have accepted jobs at piedmont Atlanta, have you heard anything about schedules, preceptors, etc? thanks!
  6. Atlanta on 3S, the cardiac step-down unit. So excited!
  7. I got a job!
  8. No contracts at Piedmont.
  9. well, I did go through the weekend wondering. ha. hoping for good news this coming week.
  10. yes it was! thank you so much for sharing, @Carkitty ADN. So, I still haven't heard anything. I am really hoping I will hear something today so I don't have to go through the weekend wondering...
  11. aw I hope you got it! I know women's services is popular and there don't seem to be a ton of openings.. : /
  12. actually I meant to ask @catfriend45 when her interview is and what units.
  13. cardiac related - basically it was recognizing when things go south like when the person is in show or heart failure and what to do in those situations. shock, not "show." ha. @601pink15 when is your interview, and for what units? good luck!
  14. All of the units sounded GREAT too, and I would be happy with any one of them.
  15. well, I think it went pretty well, but of course I'm home now and rethinking everything. ha! Also, I did stumble on a couple of the clinical scenario questions - I felt kind of off in the meeting and like I was getting a headache (which I contributed to stress and nervousness lol), and now today I have a full blown sore throat and respiratory symptoms. So, I guess I was prodromal during my interview. I did eventually answer the clinical questions I think in an adequate way, but I did require some help on a couple. I definitely think part of the process is just to see how you handle pressure. I maintained composure and answered as well as I could, and definitely was correct in most of what I said. Let's just say I didn't say anything crazy that would kill a person, so that's good. ahhahahha. good luck everyone! I will let you know what I find out! they said hopefully by tomorrow I will hear something.
