  1. Neither have I! Orientation schedule?
  2. I have not. : (
  3. @SLynn3 , CONGRATS! I think they are both great units. I haven't even started work yet so I really don't have any advice yet. : ( My main interest was cardiac and I seemed to click with the manager of the step-down unit, so those were among the reasons I chose that unit. The cardiopulmonary unit is a good place to be because you might learn a more diverse set of skills (because they take pulmonary patients too). You cannot go wrong with either unit. Congratulations!
  4. I feel for you! You are only a month in?! You need more support from your preceptor and your unit. Hang in there!
  5. for those who have accepted jobs at piedmont Atlanta, have you heard anything about schedules, preceptors, etc? thanks!
  6. Atlanta on 3S, the cardiac step-down unit. So excited!
  7. I got a job!
  8. No contracts at Piedmont.
  9. well, I did go through the weekend wondering. ha. hoping for good news this coming week.
  10. yes it was! thank you so much for sharing, @Carkitty ADN. So, I still haven't heard anything. I am really hoping I will hear something today so I don't have to go through the weekend wondering...
  11. aw I hope you got it! I know women's services is popular and there don't seem to be a ton of openings.. : /
  12. actually I meant to ask @catfriend45 when her interview is and what units.
  13. cardiac related - basically it was recognizing when things go south like when the person is in show or heart failure and what to do in those situations. shock, not "show." ha. @601pink15 when is your interview, and for what units? good luck!
  14. All of the units sounded GREAT too, and I would be happy with any one of them.
  15. well, I think it went pretty well, but of course I'm home now and rethinking everything. ha! Also, I did stumble on a couple of the clinical scenario questions - I felt kind of off in the meeting and like I was getting a headache (which I contributed to stress and nervousness lol), and now today I have a full blown sore throat and respiratory symptoms. So, I guess I was prodromal during my interview. I did eventually answer the clinical questions I think in an adequate way, but I did require some help on a couple. I definitely think part of the process is just to see how you handle pressure. I maintained composure and answered as well as I could, and definitely was correct in most of what I said. Let's just say I didn't say anything crazy that would kill a person, so that's good. ahhahahha. good luck everyone! I will let you know what I find out! they said hopefully by tomorrow I will hear something.
  16. I think emory's base pay is $27. I don't know about differentials though
  17. yes, Rockdale has some needs! definitely also med-surg jobs too, and ICU I think. When I had my phone interview the recruiter told me I was the only one she had talked to that day who wasn't interviewing for women's services. : / Also, ONE L&D preceptorship?! WHAT?! wow
  18. when I had my phone interview she said on the phone she was going to get me set up with an in person interview. I thought it was a done deal, but then later that night she sent me an email saying that she had forwarded my application on and that the floor had decided to interview me. So, I think maybe it wasn't fully a done deal until the managers took a look at my application. It did happen the same day though. I didn't get actually scheduled for a couple of days though. Good luck everyone! I don't think I've ever been this nervous about a job interview in my life. ugh. @jansenrenee22 but it sounds like the area you are interested in maybe isn't interviewing right now, so It might take longer. Piedmont Atlanta is interviewing now
  19. It’s actually on the 19th. So nervous!
  20. Oh wow. How can we get a description of the units?!
  21. I did too! Just the email to come interview at their event on the 21st. I don’t do well at interviews like that - where there are tons of people and I feel rushed. Oh well, I’ll take it!
  22. my status is still "under department consideration" - unchanged from 1/17. I kind of have my heart set on Piedmont Atl, so I haven't really pushed for Emory (haven't contacted any recruiters or anything).
  23. I’m graduating in May. Willing to drive about 35 min max.
  24. @minniemoo22 I did! It all happened really fast. and @601pink15, so far I'm only looking at Piedmont Atlanta. I basically have all of my eggs in one basket (ha). That may change depending on how this interview goes! Good luck everyone!
  25. cardiac, critical care, and transplant.
