I just found out that Ocean County College has opened another completely online microbiology course in their Summer 10 week semester starting May 23 2011. You need to buy a microscope with and oil immersion lens and an MBK LabPaq but considering what gas costs, its a wash.
This course is the 4th section to open and it fills quickly. I am just finishing the spring course and I have an A in the bag. The professor is a dream and I just loved the course. I learned so much.
They also have Anatomy and Physiology courses as well that my friends took. Its a great way to get your science prerequisites out of the way and still enjoy your summer.
Try it you will like it.

I did get an A in the course and am so happy that I took it!! The labs are not all that easy but I had a lot of fun with doing them at home.
My nursing school did recommend this course because it had a "hands on lab" and not a virtual lab. I looked into taking it at Edukan but my nursing school said they wouldn't accept it because it was a virtual lab. It was a bit cheaper so it would have saved me a few bucks. The price of gas now makes taking online courses a bargain even with the extra cost of the lab and microscope.
I am so glad that I took this course because the professor was the best I had ever had. I really learned a lot.
I think online is a great way to go. This course is a real winner!!!
I am trying to get into the online Microbiology class but it is now filled at Ocean County College. They have their course online with labs too. I e-mailed the instructor listed to see if he can open another section or if there is a possibility for a 5 week in the summer. My friend had a 5 week last year but I don't see one opened this summer. I hear this instructor Brown if great. I want to take this course desparately.
I would look at edukan.org. You do not have to purchase anything but pay for the course and the lab software which is inexpensive. The virtual lab is as good as any lab I have been in and you will learn just at much. The best part is that you can do the work around your schedule. It isn't any easier but the convenience is well worth it.

hi
i see nothing wrong with a person who had previously taken and passed microbiology or anatomy and physiology 1 or 2 whosed credits have gotten old..taking an online class..at least they already have had the classroom and lab experience..
