Summer Entry 2013 Accelerated BSN/MSN Johns Hopkins

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi everyone,

How many of you have applied for the 2013 Accelerated BSN/MSN program at JHU SON? I applied early decision and completed my phone interview on the 26th. They said they will start making decisions calls around the December 15th which is a Saturday so I'm sure we won't hear anything until the 17th or later.

Is anyone else as anxious as I am to hear back from them? I even made a vision board on my fridge that reads: I WILL GET ACCEPTED INTO THE JOHNS HOPKINS BSN/MSN PROGRAM STARTING SUMMER 2013. Positive thoughts work, right? :saint:

FYI: I also applied to Columbia, Ohio State, and UCLA.

In case anyone is still waiting to hear about ABSN/MSN I called today and was told that they are not done reviewing applications and that it could be up to another 2 weeks before we are contacted. It seems kind of unlikely at this point but I haven't received a rejection letter so still holding out hope! People are still getting phone calls and so there is a chance! A good friend keeps telling me, "if not this, something better. We all end up where we are supposed to". Congrats to all the accepted applicants, I hope to join you all in the Fall : )

Cnp2012 thanks for responding! If you have the chance to talk to him, that would be great. I'd love to hear about his experience with it. I was reading other postings about it, and I'm starting to think it's not the best option for me right now. However, it's hard to not explore something that would cover the full cost of tuition... Also, in terms of housing, how did you find your apt or at least your first apt? I'm guessing at the accepted students day we will have an opportunity to meet our cohort and maybe make some plans, but is there a place where current students post about openings?

rgracevn, have you gotten an email invitation to accepted students day? because I'm still waiting to hear from admissions too.

GOT INTO THE BSN/MSN program for acute care!!!

Hey Guys, so I called again today in desperation since the Columbia deposit is due tomorrow and I didn't want to part with $500 if I didn't have to. I am in for Fall ABSN!!!! I guess my letter has been held up because I applied for the direct entry (peds) MSN/MPH and the public health department is still making decisions. So I am still waiting on that but its great to know that I am in for the ABSN. Such a relief! Looks like I will be visiting on April 19th. Anyone else? Already looking at cute apartments on craigslist : )

Also, since I haven't received an actual letter yet I don't know about financial aid...can anyone tell me what you've been offered in terms of scholarships? I guess the next step is paying for this, yikes!

Congratulations taadams! Rgracevn, congratulations to you as well! So financial aid has not been awarded yet... Scholarships are separate and completely different

Also just a general FYI if you happen to not get into your MSN portion the first time around it is not the end of the world. A few of my classmates were accepted for BSN but not for MSN and just applied while they were in the BSN portion for their MSN and got in. So it isn't the end of the line if you don't get into your MSN portion first time around.

CNP2012, thanks for sharing. It's reassuring.

I called the other day and explained my situation. They're going to review my application for admission into the MSN program. I wrote an additional essay and scheduled an interview for tomorrow morning. I'm nervous!

Update - I was just accepted into the MSN NP program for Family Primary Care! I'm so grateful and excited!!
