Suffolk Fall 2022 RN program

Hi there everyone! Starting this thread a little early, I just applied today and very anxious. 81.3 on TEAS and 74.75 on rubric. Probably not the highest but hoping it’s enough to get in! Just curious what other peoples stats/ TEAS/ rubric scores are to those who don’t mind sharing! Good luck to everyone applying!! ?

For fundamentals, you have a choice of St. Catherine's, Good Sam, St. Charles, and I believe there is one more but I can't remember.

All of the professors who teach fundamentals are great. They really want you to succeed. If you feel like you are struggling in their class, definitely take advantage of their office hours.

Thank you! How has your experience been so far? I am missing micro, would I have to take it before starting the first year? I wanted to know if I can take prior the second year since in the sample curriculum, it is during the third semester I believe and I do not want to take any classes this Summer LOL, please lmk if you know

How is the workload the first semester? Btw, and when do clinicals start?

You don't necessarily need to take micro before starting the first year because none of what you will learn applies to fundamentals. However, I do recommend taking it during a Summer session because it will be difficult to juggle a nursing class on top of micro. Micro is a lot. Your first fundamentals course may seem overwhelming just because so much is thrown out you at once and you don't really know what to expect. You have to find a balance which I was able to do after taking the first exam. Your first clinical day will be on campus and the professor will go over everything that is expected of you. What is great about these professors is that they totally understand how you feel. They are going to guide you through it step by step. I was so nervous during my first clinical day and my professor was so understanding. All of the faculty are there to support you. I'm sure you will love it just like I have been!

Thank you!! Do you happen to know what month orientation falls on? Or does it change every time? Also approx. how much it tuition for someone who has all the non-nursing courses done?

Tuition changes each year. I know the professors hosted an orientation on zoom in either May or June. They'll send you the welcome letter too that way you can start the readings before classes start. Some students didn't do the readings but I highly recommend doing them that way you're not cramming before the exam even though you have like 3 weeks between each test. Hello!

I am late to the forum but I will be attending in the fall .. just wanted to say hi!..

Im supposed to be advanced standing because I am a transfer but I was waitlisted so I got in now and didn't have to wait until next Spring. Is anyone else in this position? I am wondering how this will work being the fall is USUALLY a 4 year program and the advanced standing is supposed to be 3 years..?

The program itself is 2 years min, almost 8 credits per semester if you have all the pre requirements/ gen eds done
