Starting the thread for those anxious applicants trying to get a read on this year's pool of candidates...
So who is willing to post what they've scored?
Here's mine:
A&P 1: A
A&P 2: B+
Eng 1: A
Eng 2: B+
Micro: ___
Psych: A
Stats: C- (blah!)
TEAS: 78
Not particularly found of the revision to the rubric.
So what are you holding???
I plan on applying for Fall 2018. I haven't taken my TEAS test yet. I have an A in all classes except A&P 1&2 and Micro because I haven't taken them yet. Interested to know if you were accepted and how the TEAS test is (what did you do to study, did you take any prep classes). Im doing AP 1 in the summer and AP 2 in the fall so planning on taking the test in the fall. Thanks for any info!

Kshahgholi-I posted my strategies on two other threads on this forum. Easy enough to track down. A & P 1 over the summer will be daunting. I wish you the best of luck!
P.S. SCCC offers a TEAS review class-four sessions for 100 dollars. I went to the first two and decided to skip the others. I did not find it helpful. But ask around and see what others think.
@kshahgholi
Having an A in all your pre req classes is definitely a good start!
When I decided to apply I hadn't even taken a&p1 yet (I'm currently in it now and a&p2 I'll be taking while in the nursing program)
I didn't want to get my hopes up because of the 3 major science pre reqs that I was missing. The counselor I met with just told me to study hard for the TEAS, which I did and I managed to get a 79.2%, which just lands me in the advanced category (78+). Those extra 20 points on the rubric are golden. I used ATI material to study and I couldn't attend any of the on campus review sessions due to my school/work schedule.
If you really try hard I think you should get in no problem. Taking anatomy prior will be a huge help considering a good portion of the science section of the TEAS is related to A&P1 & 2.
I'd break down each section or exercise of the TEAS prep book for certain days in order to not get overwhelmed.
Good luck!!! :-)
Hey guys does anyone know if you need to retake a course to get a better grade in it, will you be eligible to apply still because it's a retake?
I just went to the info session today. If you retake Bio 130 or Bio 132 (no matter if you're taking it to get a better grade from a C to A, you withdrew for personal/medical reasons, you failed) 2 points get deducted from your rubric score for that class. So if you get a C in A&P1 and retake it and get an A, you would've gotten 4 points. Because you retook the class, you'll only be getting 2 points.
And you can retake all other classes only once to get a higher grade.
Also, I wanted to mention (if it hasn't been mentioned before) that Bio 244 is different from Bio 272 even though both are Microbiology. I took Bio 272 at the Ammerman campus a few of years back in 2013. It's a Microbio class that was supposed to transfer easily to SBU because General Microbio (Bio 244) didn't transfer (Microbio is considered a higher level class so SBU was a bit stringent and Suffolk made 272 as a result for transfer students). So if you took 272, you're out of luck. They won't accept that as Microbio. At least that's what I was told. Perhaps they'll take it in consideration?

Sorry to hear that! Thank you for the update. I have my fingers crossed.
